The End of Peter B. Collins and the Need for Media Reform

(9) Comments | Posted March 16, 2009 | 1:57 AM

We may have to get progressive talk shows put on the Endangered Species List, now that the president has reinstated it. Otherwise there won't be any voices on the air except the voices of the right, whether "centrist" (corporate) or explicitly far-right (corporate). As Brad Friedman notes in his report...

Omar Khadr: Why Canada Should Take Back Its Troubled Child

(4) Comments | Posted February 9, 2009 | 3:15 PM

When President Barack Obama meets Prime Minister Stephen Harper on February 19th , he may be surprised to learn that Canada has changed. Sure, we still have the iconic loonie on our currency, the maple leaf on our flag, and the snowmen in our front yards, but these things belie...

The Bushevik Who Nailed the "Commies" at the DoJ

(1) Comments | Posted January 14, 2009 | 9:45 AM

Often, when confronted with the evidence of vast election fraud by Bush & Co., people hopefully assert that such big crimes were most unlikely, as it would have taken quite a large conspiracy to pull them off, and, by now, someone would have broken ranks and spilled the beans.

I Wonder If Al Franken Still Is Dismissive of Election Fraud Now

(16) Comments | Posted November 7, 2008 | 4:39 PM

I'm trying very hard to keep from gloating inwardly about Al Franken's plight, since, from Election Day, 2004, he has always pointedly denied the evidence of fraud by the Republicans.

I was on his show on Air America just days after that election; and every time I noted...

Why We Need Another Recount

(113) Comments | Posted June 9, 2008 | 4:09 PM

Now that the presidential race is finally under way, a lot of Democrats are giddy with excitement, certain that Barack Obama will demolish John McCain; and those Democrats apparently have every reason to believe that it will happen. On the other hand, there also are some others who aren't quite...

Five Things to do Before Election Day (and Starting Now)

(13) Comments | Posted September 5, 2006 | 5:37 PM

1. Call, write and email the press--newspapers, magazines, radio and TV stations, Web sites, etc. --and demand that they start covering election fraud, and efforts at election reform, both locally and nationwide.

2. Call, write and email your elected representatives, demanding that they start to talk about the

The Reason Why Joe Lieberman Should Quit

(15) Comments | Posted August 9, 2006 | 6:41 PM

We should certainly tell Lieberman to quit the race--but not because his presence on the ticket will deliver the election to the Busheviks. Formerly his ticket-splitting antics could, of course, have just that mischievous effect. Today, however, that is not the major danger posed by such independent or third-party operations.

Let's Get Off The Paper Trail

(8) Comments | Posted July 20, 2006 | 8:28 PM

I hate to rain on anyone's parade, but this is not a good idea.

Why is our democracy at risk? Is it just because those DRE machines don't leave a paper trail? Or is it that the Bush Republicans detest democracy, since they cannot wield power without subverting...

How To Pre-empt a "November Surprise"

(41) Comments | Posted July 17, 2006 | 8:59 PM

If the GOP should lose the House and/or the Senate on Election Day, they will pick out a handful of the "closest" races--as many as they need to hang on to majority control--and start to scream like hell about ELECTION FRAUD.

That's right: the major perpetrators of such fraud will...

My Advice for This Year's Elections

(73) Comments | Posted June 28, 2006 | 6:32 PM

Alright, let's pretend, just for the sake of argument, that the Repubs are right, as are most Democrats and the media, when they insist that the election was legitimate. Fine.

We're going to give them one more chance to hold elections that are credible. We're going to throw ourselves into...

Some Might Call It Treason: An Open Letter to Salon

Two weeks ago, Rolling Stone came out with "Did Bush Steal the 2004 Election?" -- a masterful investigative piece by Robert Kennedy, Jr., arguing that Bush & Co. stole their "re-election" in Ohio, and pointing out exactly how they did it. Primarily because of Kennedy's good reputation, and the...
