Damah Film Festival Opens In Hiroshima

The Damah Film Festival, usually based in Seattle and L.A. debuted in the Japanese city of Hiroshima today with an all-star lineup of short films including past winners of the U.S. festival, current nominees from Asian countries and a special showing of The Least of These, a thriller executive produced by Ralph Winter (X-Men, Fantastic Four) Ralph and I traveled to Hiroshima to be part of the festival and the city has been amazing. Over 100 volunteers are helping the festival run smoothly and the Hiroshima Film Commission led by Tomoko Nishizaki has been a huge supporter.

In addition to volunteers, a festival like this one needs key sponsors and a number of corporations have stepped up to make Damah Hiroshima happen. We all flew in on Japan's premiere airline, Japan Airlines and their smart marketing department provided my five-year old with a blow up airplane that she's been carrying with her everywhere. We arrived at the Hiroshima Airport and were met there by Dai-Ichi Taxi which is providing all the festival's transportation.
