The Rico act could be applied to gangs and pick them all up. The other thing that needs to be done is legalize drugs so the gangs have no money to buy weapons. legalization also stops the addicts from having to support their habits through crime, lowers AIDS, and is the ONLY PROVEN way to deal with the problems in this society. Why is such a simple solution never tried in this country? We believe lies all the time. The politicians lie all the time, the advertisers, salesmen... we have to decide which lies we are going to believe, because little else is offered. This country would rather believe a pleasing lie than an ugly truth.
This city is NOT SAFE. Not a day goes by that people in every part of the city are being SHOT, BEATEN, ROBBED, SET ON FIRE BY GANGS. Chicago is NOT A SAFE CITY and it is getting worse day by day by day. We probably have more police in this city per capita than ANY OTHER MAJOR CITY IN AMERICA, but they cannot seem to stop (or don't want to bother stopping) the growing rash of murder, beatings, shootings, robberies, rapes and gang activity in every corner of this city. DON'T COME TO CHICAGO, and if you do, be careful, be very careful no matter where you are at in the city.
