Neanderthals At Fox News Resurrect Elian Gonzalez In Latest Effort To Undermine Obama (Seriously)

digg Share this on Facebook Huffpost - stumble reddit del.ico.us RSS

It seems that nothing is going to get in the way of the continued marginalization of the RNC communications' shop -- as known as Fox News -- now that they've helped to sweep Republicans out of power in Washington for many years to come. Just when you think that Fox News couldn't become any more out-of-touch with the vast majority of Americans -- or any more pathetic in trying to undermine every move that now President-elect Obama (D) makes -- following his electoral mandate -- they've indeed sunk even lower and more painfully desperate.

If you happened to catch yourself stopping on Fox News last night as you were channel surfing -- as I did -- you might have caught their lengthy new breaking story where they claimed Attorney General-designate Eric Holder was even more involved in the Elian Gonzalez matter (yes, they're still obsessing about this insanity) than previously believed.

Now, let's assume that Fox News -- for a change -- is actually correct in that Holder was more involved in the decision-making. What's their point? Is there any real doubt today that returning that little boy back home to his biological father (after his mother died trying to flee Cuba with Elian) was an infinitely better decision than forcing him to remain in South Florida with whackjob relatives he didn't even know so that he could continue to be used as a political wedge? I think it's clearer today than ever that we did the right thing for the child by returning him to his only living biological parent.

Yet, somehow, the Neanderthals over at Fox News believe their latest effort will hurt Holder? Seriously? If so, the level of buffoonery and tone-deaf hackery at Fox News is even more pronounced than we previously imagined, as hard as that is to believe...

okay, my question is, If Fox is so out of touch with reality. Why are they beating the other channels in rating? I know how terrible Fox is so i dont watch it, ever. So why do so many people do over the other news network knowing the validity of the news on that channel?

Imagine employees of the Justice Department actually enforcing the law?

The nerve of some people.

Don't they know the Justice Department is there to provide employment for political hacks who can't get work anywhere else? And to selectively prosecute Democrats in order to maintain the "permanent Republican Majority."

Or to make political issues out of family tragedies (ie:Terry Schiavo).

Imagine returning a child to his father. How evil is that?

Yeah, what are they talking about that for? They should be talking about the pardons of Marc Rich and the FALN terrorists. The nerve of some people, huh?

One thing I definitely agree with in this article is that Fox ( I still refuse to put the word news after the word fox) despite its best efforts has unwittingly helped the very causes they are against, sort of like Ann Coulter, just so out there and ridiculous that that they backfire. So Fox-I hate what you do ,but lately I like the end result and if it means more democratic candidates in more seats -good job!

Don't be fooled the so called Moral Majority will do anything to make their belief system the USA's belief system. They will do away with the Constitution if they have to and they have already started to.

One example how in the world with our bill of rights could they come up with gay people do not have the right to marry or have the same benefits as any other citizen in this country. Illogical but they believe they are right, that they have the power to take away the rights of any citizen of this country that does not believe the way they do.

Palin she believes the earth is only 6000 years old nothing will change her mind that is how crazy it gets, they believe that Islam is going to take over the world why we have gone into two of their countries and destroyed them but religious nuts are on all sides, more people have been killed by religion's then anything else.

Fox News works exactly as it is designed to do. It is a very clever brainwashing tool starting with the rediculous "Fair and Balanced" tag line, including Bill's claim to be an Independent. FN is designed to preach to the converted and grab a few weak minded individuals along the way. As much as I loathe him, Bill is very good at what he does...and so is Carl Rove.

Don't understand why anyone watches Fox news. We have all the other news MSNBC, CBS, ABC etc.etc. Don't watch Fox-read Newsweek = Lincoln, Times=FDR. Order your gold plated plates and coins-hurry.

This Sunday night, Hannity promises another "hard hiiting, but fair and balanced" hour long smear campaign against Eric Holder, on his Fox News Network's Hannity's America. Maybe fox will need to issue ANOTHER disclaimer and apology after this one, as they did after 1 of the 2 hour long Obama smear programs, in which he used as his main source Andy Martin an avowed and very vocal Anti-Semite!

Hannity's America is about the scariest place I can think of. I would rather spend time in a gulag than Hannity's America.

My brother says that once in a while he hears Hannity on the radio. He says he's crazy and anybody that believes that stuff he speals forth is crazy as well.

I heard one of his radio rants discussing Obama's intelligence last week. For someone who barely got out of high school, dropped out of 2 colleges, saying it was because of lack of funds, he's not in much of a position to question anyone's intelligence.

After 8 years of total access to the White House, it has to be a little unnerving for FAUX to realize that they are out of the loop now. They have to find idiotic things to rail on and on about in order to feel relevant. Without their daily talking points on the fax machine, they have to actually come up with something on their own. Fasten your seatbelts - it's going to be a bumpy ride.

It's interesting to speculate how the Elian Gonzales matter would have been handled, had it happened while Bush was in office. Would it actually have produced a decision that Elian's father should be denied custody, on account of being communist? Would the administration actually have set an outrageous precedent for terminating a parent's custody rights whenever the government -- Republican, of course -- thinks that the political views of said parent are too leftist? It wouldn't surprise me if the answer to both questions would be "yes". It wouldn't surprise me if similar things are already happening, but we're not being told about them. There is simply no overestimating the arrogance of the Bush administration and the Republicans.

Taking a 6 year old child at gunpoint is warranted. Janet Reno and Eric Holder should have done it themselves. It was at 5:00 AM anyway-not at night.

Did you mean to write "unwarranted"? Well, the presence of guns around a child was unfortunate, but given that Elian Gonzales' relatives and their friends tried forceably to refuse to hand Elian over, what was to be done? You say, "Janet Reno and Eric Holder should have done it themselves"? Don't be ridiculous. Getting Elian back to his father had become a job for police, not lawyers.

Using that twisted logic, Bush should have kept on his flight suit and continued on to a bombing mission in Iraq.

And then what would happen to all the American children held in other countries due to custody disputes?

The precedent would have been set that politics trumps the law.

And that would be the last American parents would see of their children.

I worry that the comments that are currently in the news at Fox, or the words spoke of during the campaign ( pals around with terrorists ) may cause some looney tune to try to hurt President-Elect Obama.

The Republicans are going to find that they may lose more seats in 2010 and 2012. People are disgused with the under handed things they do, the hypocracy, and the commercials. Yes they also lie and they actually believe the lies are true. Palin did this many times during the campaign.

Just another Sean Insanity thing. Nothing to get to excited about. Sean knows he has lost his clout. He also worried about how much longer he will be on the air.

Elian Gonzales made history, being the first boy of color to be featured in a long-running Fox News blonde-in-distress story.
