DENVER -- Best line of the day...so far:
Director Spike Lee hit town early Sunday evening for a reception for black state lawmakers at trendy East Colfax Mexican restaurant Mezcal.
He immediately was engulfed in a horde of media, showing his true liberal political colors when one reporter, identifying himself as a correspondent for Fox News, asked Lee a question. The actor snapped, "I don't do Fox News,'' and immediately disappeared into the restaurant, which was closed to the media — not just Fox.
I suspect Lee wasn't the first person -- nor the last -- to tell Fox where they could put their microphone. If you hear of a disturbance a few blocks from the Pepsi Center this week, it will likely be Fox News trying to get into The Big Tent to shoot some footage. It won't be pretty...

Well, by gosh, anything the scholarly and bipartisan Mr Lee believes must be the way to go!!!!
Nice. The only way FoxNews will change is to get slapped where it hurts - the ratings. That will happen when they can't get interviews with anyone but neocons and crazies (redundant, I think). The more they're shown to be the propogandists they are, the more people will move to MSNBC.
Although much younger than John McCain, Spike is the original engineer of the straight-talk express. He attracts a lot of heat for it, but that is where the lightning hangs out.
..
I don't get Fox News on my television anymore through surfing, I have to actually punch in the channel numbers on my remote. That is because I programmed the Fox News channel out of my system with my remote. My next step will be to program it out using my V-chip password so that my granddaughter cannot get that vulgarity by number punching. I am a lifelong, far-left Democrat who reads the National Review and other far-right publications because the opposition is not entirely without reason and truth. Fox News brings neither reason nor truth to the majority of its reporting and commentary
Britt Hume used to be the worst of that lot, but his younger, less experienced and far less intelligent colleagues have outdone him to the point where I wonder if he feels any embasrassment by the association.
HuffPost's Pick,.. that's a good comment,.. hardly worthy of your jumping up and down though ;)
FOX will use this as an opportunity to paint Spike Lee as an "angry black man" and do all they can to associate him with liberals and Obama.
But Spike is an "angry black man." He is in the rank of liberals and is an Obama supporter.
So Fox News needs to just go ahead and tell us for once what we already know.
But I suspect they will do just the opposite and paint Spike as a director who never lived up to his potential and the affirmative-action chances given him by Hollywood because he has never won an academy award. Never mind that many white directors with credentials surpassing Spike's never won it either. Scorcese did not win it until this year.
Fox News: Them's fightin' words!!!!! !!!!!!!!!! !!
Another reason to respect Spike.

Spike did the right thing.

I went to protests at the build up to the war. Fox News was there always looking for the freak with the newly spiked mohawk who came for the purpose of getting his own freak show on television, which Fox duly reported. Never mind the families who came out in their minivans Fox made the protests into a circus. I am heartened by the DNC protesters shutting Fox out. As long as they shout down the with words that Fox can't broadcast the keep them out. That's a good thing.
Damn those freaks, how dare they. And the freaks who protested Viet Nam too. Cut your hair, boy. There's no room for counterculture in our minivan.

Now if more people had the guts to just say no to FOX... viewers included.
I would expect a similar reaction when MSNBC sticks a mike in someone's face...yes ? After all the Hillary-killing noise they made during the primaries, who do you think did more damage to the brand....F OX or MSNBC?
ding that he was a genuinely nice man with tremendous experience.
Seems it was only yesterday that Brit Hume gave a glowing opinion of Sen Biden...ad
You must have missed it
Yikes!!
Its not that endorsing Biden adds any credibility to Brit Hume its that picking Biden detracts from Obama's.
Biden represents a symbolic move towards the kind of corporatism Fox News shills for. The same guys who pay Brit's paycheck. Why would Brit complain? You think he gets to make up his own mind about these things? My parrot speaks more independently.
I'd hate to break it to ya, but I lived without cable for almost a year, getting my news mostly through internet and online news sources during the primary campaign, and I think Hillary's own campaign did more damage to her brand than any one news source did her the more damage. Just saying...
