Mark L. Schneider joined the International Crisis Group in spring 2001 as Senior Vice President and Special Adviser on Latin America. He directs the Washington advocacy office, conveying Crisis Group analyses and recommendations to the White House, the State Department, the Department of Defense, and Congress, as well as the World Bank and other international organisations. He also serves as special adviser on Latin America and on HIV/AIDS and security.
