I love Tina Fey and Amy Poehler and I love watching the Golden Globes -- by far the most fun of all awards shows. And this year will be better than ever with those hilarious gal-pals as co-hosts of this weekend's annual Golden Globe Awards broadcast.
As everyone who does comedy knows, it's all about chemistry, and Tina and Amy set a new standard for that kind of magic when they shared screen-time on Saturday Night Live in the mid-2000s. And even if you didn't realize then how truly special their comic-connection is, you knew it for sure when SNL ran their now legendary spoof of Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton during the 2008 presidential campaign.
As for the Golden Globes, Tina and Amy haven't even taken the stage yet and they're already earning laughs. In a promotional video for the show, both women wear over-the-top sequined gowns, and immediately begin jamming (Tina calls the Globes "a very, kind of sloppy, loud party," while Poehler confesses that she's already begun having conversations in her head with Angelina Jolie). And, of course, both women deliver their lines to deadpan perfection.
So three cheers to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for selecting this dynamic duo for what's sure to be a very memorable evening. And speaking of memorable, here are some golden moments from Golden Globes of the past. Happy viewing!
