"I am grateful for the fact that I have a wonderful life. I spent some years without a kitchen table, without a chair, and I know what it's like to be blessed by the opportunities of this great nation. Cindy's father, who barely finished high school, went off and distinguished himself in World War II in a B-17 and came back with practically nothing and realized the American dream, and I am proud and grateful for that..." - John McCain on CBS News - Sunday August 24th 2008

JOHN McCAIN:

I have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream. I have a dream that one day all men in their first marriages will rise up and live out the true meaning of my creed: "We hold these first wives to be self-evidently dump-able (especially if they have gained a lot of weight after a severely disfiguring car accident), that all mistresses with rich daddies are created equal as opportunities for our upward mobility and political advancement. (Even if their rich daddies are convicted felons -- having made their initial money with illegal activities for which they were prosecuted and convicted.)

I have a dream that the three little children I abandoned in my first marriage will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the discolor of their skin-grafts (as I judged their 43-year-old mother) but by the content of their credit reports -- as I judged the fatcat father of the 23-year-old ex-cheerleader trust-fund babe I dumped their mother for. I have a dream today!

And when this happens, when we allow freedom from first wedding rings, when we let go of these rings in every village and every hamlet, in every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's husbands, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual: "Free at last! Free at last! My second wife's daddy is a multi-millionaire! Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!

"Affter he [John McCain] came home, he walked with a limp, she [Carol McCain] walked with a limp. So he threw her over for a poster girl with big money from Arizona [Cindy McCain] and the rest is history." - Ross Perot (McCain family friend since 1970) to Newsweek - January 16th 2008.
