President Bush
We the undersigned owe you a HUGE apology.
If we had known 8 years ago that you would:
• Preside over the largest government spending since LBJ
• Nationalize many of the US's largest banks (Right on Comrade!)
• Graphically demonstrate the dangers of unregulated capitalism
• Destroy the Republican Party brand for a generation
• Give the Democrats a shot at a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate
• Send the House Republicans into the Bermuda Triangle
• Fulfill your pledge to unite the nation (against you!)
• End your presidency with even lower approval than Richard Nixon
• Galvanize the nation to vote for a liberal Democrat to replace you
• Help ensure the election of the first African-American President
... we wouldn't have been so beastly to you!
So we wish to apologize profusely to you.
Thank you for your great contributions to the progressive cause!
We wish you a very happy retirement under President Obama.

"Help ensure the election of the first African-American President." Sweet!!
I might even be wiling to thank bush for this, if I can say it to his face personally on Nov. 5.
LOL!
If that is what it takes for progressives to win who needs them? For me the damage done by Bush is greater than anything the new "progressives" will bring us. I would trust "progressives" more if they had a closer connection to the working stiffs of America. They all seem to be a few steps removed from lives of the majority of Americans.
Have you ever wondered why democrats are doing so poorly while the circumstances would so heavily favor them? Congress controlled by democrats gets job approval ratings in the teens! God help us if no Bush merely means more of the same from Pelosi and Reid.
I hope you sent that to him at the White House. He doesn't read you know, so he'll never see it out here.
Well, I am sorry ... But Bush isn't getting any apology.
I'm sorry for our standing in the world, sorry for the state of my 401k, sorry for the thousands of American families and untold Iraqis who've had someone die due to our selfishness. I'm sorry for the loss of rational and honest debate, I'm sorry for the set-backs to Constitutional rights, I'm sorry for the willful ignorance so many of my countrymen brazenly display, while they wave the Bible in one hand, and my flag in the other.
Sorry for immigrants, sorry for women, sorry for the poor, sorry for minorities, sorry for homosexuals.
I'm sorry for Gore, I'm sorry for those GOP who've had their party hijacked, sorry for all of us who have to begin this long slough back to respectability and prosperity.
But Bush? No, I'm not sorry there.
I'm ashamed.
Mr. Lewis: Your ironic article is meant in humor, and there may be some silver linings that give us hope that America can finally start repairing the damage George W. Bush has wrought.
But I would not thank an arsonist who destroyed my home, giving me the opportunity to build a nicer one.

We'd apologize right after he does. Sure we would.

No, I will refuse to sign ANY apology to bush! The man has destroyed the country I was proud to serve, and I hold nothing but PURE contempt for the "man".
