President Palin

digg Share this on Facebook Huffpost - stumble reddit del.ico.us RSS

Vice President Palin. President Palin.

Like it or not, John McCain, this is your case:

In a dangerous world, who will keep you safe? At a perilous time, who has the experience to face down the Russians, track down the terrorists, back down the Iranians, and bring peace to the Middle East? Who do you deserve to have a heartbeat away from the red phone?

Obama, you said the race is about presidential temperament.

Well, eat this, Barack. You want to see my presidential temperament in action? Sarah f*in' Palin, man. That's the ticket!

Palin is the most bizarre choice for VP I could imagine for McCain. He has no respect for women. Maybe he just wants to get in her pants. No novelist could have written a better twist to the plot.

I think y'all are being unduly harsh. She seems like a perfectly lovely woman. As for her "lack of experience," look at what a great job Laura Roslin has done with the Colonial Fleet, and she was only Secretary of Education when the Cylons attacked!

You guys just don't know your history.

read Dee Dee Myers artickle today...her point is that this pick is wrong exactly because Palin may be judged unfairly wvwn though one day she may have the experience to do the job yet she will be blamed if things go wrong because she has no credentials right now. 2 years ago, Barack had slim credentials (although as a constitution lawyer, law professor and editor he certainly proved his intellect) but in the past 2 years he has shown that he can communicate a powerful message and he stood toe to toe in over 20 debates with the most qualified dems around..and he beat them. Palin will not have the opportunity tio show the world that she can do that...because John McCain has taken that away from her by making a selfish choice to shore up his own lack of youth and energy and his broken image as a reformer....

Euthman, if you know something we don't know, let us in on it!

Actually, the Laura Roslin point is an interesting question, since she is so excellent one wonders whether the only reason she was only Sect. of Education was - because she was a woman!

We are in trouble if he's elected. He is choosing his VP based on an election strategy only. He isn't considering her role after the election at all!! There are plenty of qualified women in the Republican party who would have made sense so what the hell is going on here?

If you were a female Clinton supporter, who just couldn't like Obama, fine. But PLEASE know that this is not in the best interest of the country or women. I do not want a sup-par substitute for Hillary to be the woman that busts through the glass ceiling. I want a valid woman candidate so that when a woman does bust through no one can say it was for any reason other than her ability to do it.

Come on. As Marvin would say, "What's going on?"

My prediction, just like Harriet Miers she will gracefully withdraw so as not to be a "distraction" to the election and McCain campaign.

Is this for real????

I wonder if she will be nominated and elected at the repub convention. Will they be numb to the fact that Palin offers nothing to the campaign. She's a social converative, pro-lifer. Just whom is she supposed to sway to mccain? For all his bluster about picking a pro-choice vp like Tom Ridge or a young gov of a key state-Pawlenty or Nindal-mccain picks someone who may bring in the moose vote. Of course, Palin is a life-long hunter so she may not get that, either. Forget the Hillary backers-Palin's pick is a slap in the face, to attempt to compare her with someone with Hillary's cred.

i love it you think she was picked because McCain wants democrats only to vote for them.....how about to hold his conservative base.........and the NRA base.......both your candidates are gun grabbers.........While ours are not......both democrats want nationalized health care

I thought the same thing. I had to turn off NPR because I couldn't take listening to the twits offering their analysis, and I quote: "at the end of the day, voters may say, you know what? She's the kind of woman I'd like to see in Washington." This, directly after stating her NRA membership and pro-life stance. They are incapable of separating real life, and real issues, from some bullshit campaign move. You could go to any business meetup, in any city in this country, and find somebody more capable than this woman to potentially assume the presidency. And considering the deep s*&t this nation is in, this isn't the least bit funny.

Seeing as she's currently under state investigation for trying to get her brother-in-law fired (it's a long sordid story involving a brutal custody battle and illegal moose-hunting) maybe that 'distraction' theory isn't far off. There's also 'want to spend more time with the family'.

Now, if McCain had nominated MICHAEL Palin for his running mate, that would be interesting! The "Spam" song could be the campaign theme song--the possibilities are endless!

That was the first thing I thought this morning when I saw Palin's name.
He could have come out in his lumberjack clothes from "The Lumberjack Song". Let everyone know that republicans are real men with manly jobs. Of course there would be problems when it is discovered that he "puts on women's clothing, and hangs around in bars".

McCain is typically rude and condescending to women so I wonder how he came to the conclusion that this women would challenge anything he says or does? Then again; it is obvious that he does not like to be challenged; especially by a women - recalling how he has called his wife names, Chelsea comments, rape jokes, allowed foul language towards HRC to name a few.

I wonder what Ms Palin thinks of health care, equal pay, education, sex education; one would think these not as important as owning guns and a women's right to choose.

Is there outsourcing in Alaska?

"[A]s for that V.P. talk all the time, I’ll tell you, I still can’t answer that question until somebody answers for me what is it exactly that the V.P. does every day?" ~ Sarah Palin

One heartbeat away from going face to face with the Russians. I think McCain has taken pandering to new heights and made a statement as to his opinion of the intelligence of Hillary supporters and women.

3:10 pm. Geraldine Ferraro just stated to Fox News she's either voting for McCain or staying home. She is wetting in her pants she's so excited as you know she works now for Fox News since April 08, so does Howard Wolfson and soon so will Hillary Clinton. So this election was definitely about being a woman in Power at the highest level for this crowd and nothing less.

Ladies, this was not about democratic values, goals, aspirations, women's rights, gay and lesbian rights, it was about Hillary Rodham Clinton and her most closest friend Geraldine Ferraro. As I stated month's ago, Hillary and Geraldine where speaking with Rove as their stratagist since Iowa, the chickens have come home to roost for the democrats believing in her loyalty. She has never been an honest broker with any, anyone, anytime, anywhere, anyhow.

So there you go Hillaryland, pick up your ballots and go live with McCain's extreme views, especially of women. Disgusting

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 03:15 PM on 08/29/2008

Hey, can it, pal, Hillary's on board, and anybody who isn't on board with her isn't a supporter of hers, or of women.

Ferraro's slide into nastiness, self-pity and irrelevancy is sad to see. I remember her when she was a local politician, being interviewed on WNYC about senior issues. She was good. That may have been the last time she was really good.

If you've ever heard of the Peter Principle (People rise to their level of incompetance; they keep getting promoted until they reach a level they can't handle) then you know Geraldine is the Peter Principle in action.
