Say It Ain't Jew, Joe

digg Share this on Facebook Huffpost - stumble reddit del.ico.us RSS

Ever since their diaspora, Jews have been accused of putting something else -- themselves, the dispersed Israelite people, then Israel itself -- ahead of their own country. Jewish citizens of Russia, Germany and America, to pick just a few, have been slandered (and sometimes killed) for allegedly putting their allegiances to the Hebrew nation ahead of their patriotism toward the motherland, the fatherland or the homeland. This is vintage Protocols of the Elders of Zion.

And yet what do we hear today from Orthodox Jew Joe Lieberman?

"In my opinion, the choice could not be more clear: between one candidate, John McCain, who's had experience, been tested in war and tried in peace, another candidate who has not. Between one candidate, John McCain, who has always put the country first, worked across party lines to get things done, and one candidate who has not."

And just in case the media failed to notice, the McCain campaign -- whose slogans include "Country First" -- has now sent Lieberman's remarks to the entire political press corps.

What is to be made of this? Does Joe Lieberman not realize that he is using one of the oldest anti-semitic tricks in the book to accuse Obama of being the Islamic candidate?

Joe Lieberman's outrageous statement is a trial balloon for McSame. If the public doesn't rise up to condemn it, we will be hearing McSame saying it for weeks and months to come. I took advantage of the free night and weekend long distance on my cell phone plan to call Joe Lieberman's office and leave a message on his voicemail telling him what I think of his despicable statement (or at least as close as I could come without using obscene language). I suggest everyone else do the same or we are going to be hearing Obama's patriotism called into question repeatedly until November 4th.

Well; lets see if Obama wins the Presidency and The Democrats take more seats in the Senate if thei leadership will have the stones to tell Lieberman to take a hike and let him go ahead and caucus with the Republicans...

"it would take stones, to tell Lieberman to take a hike NOW. Later, with an overwhelming advantage in the congress and the presidency, there is no downside to the decision. A wimp could make it, and therefore the democrats will then "stand on principle" and kick Lieberman out.

I'd rather see them throw a drink in his face.

It's outrageous that Lieberman can actually get away with it. I agree that it is the ultimate hypocracy coming from the man who seems to be so much more loyal and preoccupied with Israel than the USA.
Let's not forget that he turned his back on his own party for this reason. Lieberman is a one issue politician, ISRAEL!

I'd say he owes more loyalty to Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, Honeywell and other of our state sponsored welfare recipients, in some respects Israel's hawkish military outlook probably does as well. Transnational Barbarism funded in part by IRS, NSA, and presidents all over the spectrum including ...George HW, Bill Clinton and George Dubya, probably(leaning to definitely) McCain would, and maybe Obama will too(hoping he'll stop the cycle though).

No big surprise here, coming from the surrogate, and potential VP of a candidate whose first presidential ad proclaimed, "The AMERICAN president AMERICANS have been waiting for." Staight out of the HC playbook; sad, just sad.

Conservatives to Jews: Obama is the Anti-Israel.
Conservatives to Christians: Obama is the Ant-Christ.

This is, like, so unexpected.

Liberals to Conservatives: Obama is pro-Bill of Rights

'nuff said, let's go positive. It's so refreshing.

Of course he does.
As the McCain campaign was quoted in the Financial times recently, Joe Lieberman is on McCain's short list because he never puts a word wrong.
Therefore, not only were Lieberman's words intentional, they were explicitly endorsed by the McCain campaign.
As Joe would say; "Everyone knows that a exotic black man can never be trusted to be loyal to his country".

John and Joe are now the two old guys in the balcony from the muppet movie. One is snoozing and the other is babbling. Don't take them seriously, they'll both be fast asleep real soon.

There must be an obscure Pulitzer category for "Title That Renders Ensuing Copy Unnecessary".

Never was so much said in so few words.

Gotta be some kind of record.

Bravo, Marty!

For a Senator that routinely puts the interests of Israel ahead of those of the Unites States, this is the hight of hypocricy.

Yep, collective character assassination is the oldest trick in the book, and when it comes to Arab and Muslim folk in the US; it's a ravenous free for all.

Did anyone notice that the McCain campaign first trotted out the slogan as "America First" but quickly changed it to "Country First" after a couple of events.

Maybe someone pointed out to them the "America First Committee" was the anti-semitic organization which opposed the U.S. entry into World War II.

A lovely slogan, isn't it? "Country First"? Very similar to "My Country, Right or Wrong"! The very basic mindset of anyone who believes the ends justify the means! Every Totalitarian regime or movement has advocated the same belief or dogma!

Par for the Lieberman course is all one can say about Low Joe’s statements. The counter is to go right to the heart of the attack and stomp on it with clear sharp attacks of logic and irrefutable truth. I look for this response to come fast and furious.

Mr. Obama is on vacation and he was smart to take a vacation because as we saw in the primary the home stretch will be taxing to body and mind. There was talk that Mrs. Clinton looked haggard toward the end and that Mr. Obama looked fresh because he had taken some time off. He will need to be focused and on top of his game. The kitchen sink is nothing compared to the Hoover Dam, and good ole’ boy McCain is not going to go without launching or dispatching everything that lives, crawls, oozes, slimes, and slithers down in the gutter where he and Lieberman live. The compelling question does not concern their behavior though; the compelling question concerns the gullibility and the readiness of the electorate; gullibility to the old tired tactics, and readiness for a visionary that can guide and unite a country at the dawn of a new age; a country currently residing in somewhat perilous or troubled waters.
