Mary Zerkel is the co-Coordinator of the Afghanistan campaign and National Coordinator of the Eyes Wide Open and Cost of War programs within the American Friends Service Committee. Eyes Wide Open is the internationally acclaimed exhibit about the human cost of the Iraq War. Ms. Zerkel has worked for AFSC for 15 years on a variety of issues and is the author of “Critical Thinking for Meaningful Action,” and “Economics Education,” both published by AFSC and is the co-director of “Benaat Chicago,” a widely viewed documentary about the lives of Arab youth on the south side of Chicago. She lives in Chicago with her husband and daughter.
