Matt Meis
Matt Meis, owner of Wandering Jeweler Inc and Russian Brilliants, has over 35 years of experience in every aspect of the jewelry industry. Matt began his career in the jewelry business as a craftsman in 1975. By 1986 he was the in-house goldsmith at an exclusive La Jolla, California fine jewelry store. Matt made the transition from the workbench to retail jewelry store management and in 1993 left retail for a position with a wholesale diamond import company.

Four years later he began his solo career as Matt Meis Goldsmith; a convenient, high quality and competitively priced option for customers looking for an alternative to the traditional retail jewelry store buying experience. Specializing in custom designed wedding, anniversary and special occasion fine jewelry, Matt meets with his clients in the convenience of their home or office. One of his clients nicknamed him The Wandering Jeweler, and the name has stuck.

Over the years Matt has had several clients that wanted high quality custom designed fine jewelry, but did not want a mined diamond, either for ethical or ecological reasons or because of the high price. Russian Brilliants, which offers gold and platinum fine jewelry set with the finest quality hand cut diamond simulants, was a very natural next step in his fine jewelry career.

Matt Meis has been featured in several magazines including Jewelers Circular Keystone, Pro Jeweller, Exquisite Weddings and Luxveria Luxurious Living. Meis has been interviewed on San Diego's NBC 7/39 television and featured in a Microsoft Small Business Success Story. Meis has also been featured on the United States Small Business Administration website.
