The rules of the game are simple: The place has to be in or around SoHo, the food has to be no more than $5, it has to fill you up, and there can't be any meat. In a neighborhood defined by sky-high rents and lavish eateries, it's not always so easy to find a good vegetarian lunch, but these spots prove you don't have to settle for a side salad. Most of the meals aren't particularly healthy, but that's what Lite Delights is for.

If you have any suggestions of your own, write a comment -- I'd love to check out some new spots. Remember that the food should be equal to or less than $5 (before tax is fine), and that I'm using a pretty loose definition of SoHo (spare the jurisdictional disputes).

Pinche Taqueria: A $4.95 Breakfast Burrito

I recommend the Huevos a la Mexicana burrito ($4.95) -- just a breakfast on their menu, but so much more in your belly. The scrambled eggs come with plenty of peppers. Plus, they throw in a couple of sauces and a non-negligible bounty of chips.
