Matthew Bennett is the Founding Co-Director of The Purpose Project, a nonprofit initiative to inspire and equip the next generation of social leaders by gathering and sharing the stories and wisdom of experienced social leaders. The Purpose Project is working to facilitate dialogue between different generations of social leaders—those who have spent their lives creating social change, and those who are now emerging and will be responsible for leading us forward. Previously, Matthew worked for Plowshares Institute, a non-profit organization that facilitates international peacebuilding, where he led a strategic and succession planning process for the organization’s founders. While working for Plowshares, he also facilitated conflict transformation workshops in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Cuba, and Uganda. Matthew is a graduate of Duke University where he studied public policy and economics with a focus on leadership transitions in the non-profit sector.
