So, by now, we've all heard that one of the leading candidates to be chairman of the RNC, Chip Saltsman, sent out CDs with the song "Barack the Magic Negro" as Christmas presents. Because nothing says "Merry Christmas" like blatant racism. I mean, it's not like Jesus was dark skinned or anything.
Now, you'd think that after Saltsman showed his racist stripes, his chances to win the RNC chair would be slim to none. But, these are Republicans we're dealing with. And a whole slew of them are rallying around Chip's right to be an ignorant bigot. And make no mistake, this is America. You have that right.
So, Chip, galvanized by his party's support, has come out with a campaign ad emphasizing his finer, goober qualities. Take a look.
It's nice to see people being comfortable with who they are. Chip is inspiring Republicans around the country to stand up and say "We are white. We are racist. We are proud."
And not to be left out, Fox News, along with their viewers, are apparently jumping on the uninformed band wagon, too. On New Year's eve, they were scrolling New Year's messages from viewers along the bottom of the screen and they allowed one on the air that read:
HAPPY NEW YEAR AND LET'S HOPE THE MAGIC NEGRO DOES A GOOD JOB. LOVE JEN AND JOHN C
I'm not kidding. Take a look.
Can Republicans respond to their November defeat by becoming even more of a fringe party? Yes they can.
Can Republicans make themselves strictly a regional party of the deep South? Yes they can.
Can Republicans elect a clear racist to be their national chairman? Yes they can.
And lets hope they do. Because in America, you have the right to be a racist. But if you are, the rest of us have the right to treat you like backwards clown that you are.

I sincerely hope the Republicans DO make this ignorant bigot the chairman of their party, so they can continue to repel minorities and young people until they marginalize themselves out of existence.
I hope they elect Saltsman. He's a gift that keeps giving.

I'm with you, Wide_Stance. I think Saltsman has a lot more ignorant things to contribute.
The following article has nothing to do with this subject. Just thought this is an interesting articles and it speaks to the mindset of some people in the Red States. I think it was awesome for this person to come out and say this:

I feel like as the numbers on our calendars get bigger the brains on the right get smaller. It is like watching devolution in action! Fascinating yet terribly sad.

You may be on to something, tj.
As long as the republicans let people like Rush, Coulter, Saltman, and Hannity speak for them, they will never go anywhere. It is time that good people in the republican party condemn these people's actions. I am white but I have always been a democrat because to me all the republicans stand for is making the rich richer and keeping the white race supreme above everyone else. They claim to be the religious right but act just the opposite. Why do they insist on bringing up Obama's race? What does that have to do with anything? I hope that the republican party completely goes away and another party springs up that believes in equality for all and offers middle class a better way of life. Their greed will bring them to their knees if it hasnt already.

If they continue to embrace this kind of junk, I agree that their days as a national party are numbered.
1st 14- Years ago- I used to vote Republican - but no more .The Repubs of late - have disgraced the party. Rush- Hannity- Saltsman and the hate spewing Coulter have changed the party for the worst. They claim to be religious, and have family values- but their actions say different. Thats why Obama won so many formerly 'Republican ' states. True- Repubs have become the party of corporate America. It started with Reagan's deregulating of BANKS / lenders & other industries- plus his theory of 'trickle down economics ' which has since proven to be bogus. That led us to our current crisis! Greenspan recently apoligized for his long time support of deregualtion..which allowed banks & Wall St to get very greedy. Banks lent money to non qualified home buyers - then the lenders packaged those bad loans ( as mortgage securities) and sold them on Wall St. Home owners defaulted - Banks repossessed the homes- and sold them at a very low price. That- in turn-lowered the value of all the homes in that area. Values plummeted. Motto of the story ? We need to get back to reasonable rules and safeguards.
The rest is history.
this should have been on all the chat shows!!!!!!!!!! this week and next but it was not. this will always be swept under the rug by the media . aaaallllll leading rupubs should have had to comment on this but were not questioned by the cub reporters of the media. they are too concerned about the blago non story connecting obama .
mathew thanks but u need to take this to cable tv not just blog it!!!!!!!

Thanks lovable.
And if cable tv will have me, I'll go.
'Can't we all just get along??' - Still amazing to me that this type of people don't think about one statement that MLK stated about his children being judged on the content of their character and not the color of their skin...
Simply amazing.. I guess all of the work that I put in to go to school, work hard on my job, try to take care of my family amounts to nothing just because my skin might be a shade darker...
Hmmmm...... and I do no magic....!
Sorry about the 2nd post folks, I didn't think the first one went through.... just had to reply to this one....

Hopefully we'll see that day,Mike, but, sadly, guys like Saltsman show we haven't gotten there yet.
Well, read this article. It speaks volumes about the mindset of a few U.S. citizens. Just thought this is an interesting articles and it speaks to the mindset of some people in the Red States. I think it was awesome for this person to come out and say this:

If this in fact true, then it is a crying shame that in this day and time we still have folk that have degenerated to a level that exploits the media to make inferences that you don't like me solely on the basis of my skin color.
Forget the fact that I believe I work as hard as anyone else, forget I try to raise my children to be honest and have integrity in the things they do, but that they have to think a 2nd time after all this to consider that people will judge them just because their skin is a shade darker.
