As you have most likely heard, the head of the Republican party, Rush Limbaugh, is attempting to purchase the St. Louis Rams NFL franchise.
Needless to say, he's excited about the opportunity. So much so, that should the sale go through, he's already designed a whole new uniform for the Rams. Take a look.
Seriously, what NFL team wouldn't be thrilled to be owned by a man who has said
"The NFL all too often looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips without any weapons. There, I said it."
"Have you ever noticed how all newspaper composite pictures of wanted criminals resemble Jesse Jackson?"
"The NAACP should have riot rehearsal. They should get a liquor store and practice robberies."
What player wouldn't want to compete for a man who once told an African American caller to "take the bone out of your nose"? Who was fired from ESPN because of his racist comments about Donovan McNabb?
I mean, we won't allow Rush to own slaves. The least we could do is let him own an NFL team.

Morris W. O'Kelly: Limbaugh in the NFL Would Be Bad Business
I'm not sure the NFL is ready to stomach the hatemail the next time Limbaugh compares the Democrats to Nazis, but like it or not...as an owner he would represent the NFL.

It's amazing. Rush can complain about "the ongoing effort by the left in this country, wherever you find them, in the media, the Democrat Party, or wherever, to destroy conservatism". And Michael Steele can complain about the "Democrats and their international leftist allies". But if Bill and Hilary Clinton talk about a "vast right wing conspiracy" they get mocked and laughed at by the righties.
Oh, he must be very disappointed tonight.
It was only after reading your account that i understood that owning a football team for a certain kind of man must be a lot like owning an elaborate doll house is for a certain kind of woman. All about control. It was the choosing of uniforms that was the fussy, telling detail. ohhhhh, he must be stewing tonight.
Another thing: if we are having to dig up articles from 10 years back, I'm not so sure how racist this person is. It should be appalling, the amount of racist things coming from his mouth. You should have a quote from the last year, at least.
No. He needs to have apologized for saying such things in a convincing manner. He has never attempted such a rehabilitation of his reputation. He has, as a matter of fact, always belligerently defended his remarks.
I'm all for lambasting someone who makes racist comments. But if your source is an obscure article from 2000, who quotes another book without page or date, then this is a fail. Fight the good fight, just do it some justice.
"Who once said slavery 'had it's merits' because the 'streets were safer after dark'?"
Closest I could get was "101 People Who Are Really Screwing America" with no citation for any source.
Care to respond?
He has figured out how to "own" some people. That's the deeply creepy thing, eh?
I hope in the future anyone who wants to buy anything the left makes it their business to make sure they are pure as the driven snow. Have you checked out Roman Polanski's background and if he has ever wanted to purchase anything?
Be comforted, neither of your examples are ever going to be allowed to "own" people in the U.S. of A.
It had nothing to do with him being a conservative, but with him being a racist.
The sad thing is he doesn't even know he's racist... he was being racist even when trying to explain one of his supposedly 'non-racist' comments on his radio show earlier today... he said they shouldn't be letting the 'black culture' take over the NFL, like it supposedly was, when he made the 'Crips and Bloods' comment.
That's how racist he is, he's racist even when he thinks he's not being racist. I know he's the conservatives hero, but isn't it patently obvious that his continued boorish behavior in this regard was going to be a liability for the NFL?
You reap what you sow, and when you spend over 20 years sowing hatred and division, don't be surprised when that's what you get back in return.
Good riddance. It couldn't have happened to a better guy.
And it least it gives him one more set of enemies to rail on day after day... NFL owners. Maybe he'll shut up about Obama for 5 minutes to complain about them. We can hope.
Twitter came up with quite a list of team names for Limbaugh's team.
My favorite was the St. Louis BlueBalls
