Melanie Deziel is a graduate student studying Arts Journalism at the Newhouse School at Syracuse University. She completed her undergraduate degree in journalism at the University of Connecticut, where she worked as editor-in-chief of the campus' independent daily newspaper. She has been described by coworkers as "abnormally productive" and "shockingly self-aware." She enjoys frequenting local cafes and rewriting song lyrics to fit her needs. At present, she is a recovering caffeine-addict, actively re-learning how to be a functional journalist during normal waking hours.
