Heraclitus said, "No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river and he's not the same man." It was a pretty smart thing to say, and if social media had been around in 500 BCE, I think the quote would have done really well on Twitter.

Well, the same goes for parenting. No two days with your child are ever alike. And, once you've been in the thick of a developmental stage and think you have something finally figured out, your kids go and change on you. And then you're back where you started. It's weird. In fact, forget river analogies! Parenting is just bizarre! And, in that spirit, I created eight charts that point out just how weird I think parenting and childhood are:
