The Book of Genestones

One of the many ridiculous topics trapped in an endless circular debate year after year in this country is whether or not evolutionary science or creationism should be taught in schools. In the interest of giving both sides a fair hearing, I went to The Creation Museum in Kentucky. There I viewed many elaborate exhibits explaining that not only is the earth only 6,000 years old but the dinosaurs were on the Ark with Noah.

So I thought about all the evidence on both sides.

And when I felt I finally understood what I had learned, I made this:

OK Merrill, loved the production, except the credits moved too quickly. How am I supposed to blame somebody when their name goes by too fast to read?

But let me get serious for a minute. I was taught (yes, I went to Sunday school) that the entire universe was made by God in six days. At twelve years old I didn't question that statement but I did figure that the days the preacher was talking about had to be God's days, not man's. For one thing, he hadn't made Adam yet when he started, never mind the Earth!

Then, a few years later I learned about the Big Bang Theory and that didn't make much sense either. Physics tells us that to get a noise of any kind there has to be a fliud of some kind already there. So why that name for the event that created everything? From the Bible, the first thing was "Let there be light". Now that makes sense!

My point? The two theories are not mutually exclusive. I guess argueing is just too much fun!

Well, when you explain it that way, with the visual aids and everything, it makes so much more sense.
Very nice, and funny.
