South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham says Republicans won't support any immigration reform that allows same-sex couples to keep their families intact. "Why don't we just put legalized abortion in there and round it all out," he joked.

Good one, Lindsey. If there are two things that Republicans just can't stand, it's gay people and abortion. Graham implies that most legislation would sail through Congress if only the Democrats would just keep bills gay- and abortion-free. Never mind that "legalized abortion" doesn't need to be included in bills because, despite Republican efforts, it's already legal for immigrants and non-immigrants alike. He knows that, right?

We heard from women's health experts Todd Akin and Richard Mourdock during the election. Now Lindsey Graham is telling us that openly gay people's lives and families are a joke?

We've heard about all this new Republican soul searching. Maybe they should start by rethinking their spokespeople.

Lindsey? Please.
