While reporter Kate Nocera is leaving for BuzzFeed, Politico announced a couple new additions today in a memo to staff.
CNN's Rebecca Sinderbrand joins Politico as deputy White House editor and Bloomberg News' Eric Engleman is coming aboard as the publication's new deputy technology editor.
The full memo is below:
We have two exciting new arrivals to announce.
Rebecca Sinderbrand will be the new Deputy White House Editor, joining White House Editor Edward-Isaac Dovere. Rebecca is coming to us from CNN where she was most recently the political producer for Anderson Cooper, and has held a number of other key positions there -- including staffing the Political Ticker blog. She also spent time at Newsweek and the Associated Press.
Eric Engleman will come on as the Deputy Technology Editor, working with Technology Editor Eric Nelson. Eric comes to us from Bloomberg News, where he has been covering technology policy. Eric has nearly 20 years in the business, and has also worked at the Puget Sound Business Journal and had a stint for the Associated Press in Moscow.
And we have one departure as well.
Kate Nocera is leaving us to join BuzzFeed as a Capitol Hill reporter. Kate joined us from the New York Daily News, and she quickly made a mark as the voice of our health care newsletter, POLITICO Pulse. Since then, she has brought her eye for detail to enterprise stories on the Hill, where she captured the personalities in Congress with flair. She'll be missed but we wish her the best.
