Michael D. Intriligator is Professor of Economics at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) where he is also Professor of Political Science, Professor of Public Policy in the School of Public Affairs, and Co-Director of the Jacob Marschak Interdisciplinary Colloquium on Mathematics in the Behavioral Sciences. He is also a Senior Fellow of the Milken Institute in Santa Monica. He has been a member of the UCLA faculty since 1963, teaching courses in economic theory, econometrics, mathematical economics, international relations, and health economics, and he has received several distinguished teaching awards. He has served as the Director of the UCLA Burkle Center for International Relations and its predecessor, the UCLA Center for International and Strategic Affairs.

Dr. Intriligator received his undergraduate S.B. degree in Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; his M.A. degree at Yale University, where he was the recipient of the Woodrow Wilson Fellowship; and his Ph.D. in Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he worked with Robert M. Solow and Paul A. Samuelson both of whom were later awarded the Nobel Prize in Economics.

Dr. Intriligator is the author of more than 200 journal articles and other publications in the areas of economic theory and mathematical economics, econometrics, health economics, reform of the Russian economy, and strategy and arms control, his principal research fields.

Dr. Intriligator is Vice Chair and a member of the Board of Directors of Economists for Peace and Security (EPS) and was President of the Peace Science Society (International) in 1993. He edits the Elsevier Series, "Handbooks in Economics" with Nobel Laureate Kenneth Arrow at Stanford, and he serves on the Editorial Boards of Economic Directions, Defence and Peace Economics, and Conflict Management and Peace Science. He was President from 2008 to 2009 of the Western Economic Association International. He is a Fellow of the Econometric Society, a Senior Fellow of the Gorbachev Foundation of North America, an AAAS Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, a Foreign Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences. and an elected member of the Council on Foreign Relations (New York) and the International Institute for Strategic Studies (London).

R. Kyle Martin is currently an independent consultant to institutional investors. An intrinsic part of his research entails studying macroeconomic trends for the U.S. As he is a veteran of the technology space, he specializes in consulting to technology analysts with a particular focus on wireless communications and semiconductors. He started his career as an electrical engineer and moved on to build numerous technology companies both in the U.S. and Japan where he has held multiple executive level positions in sales, marketing and business development. These companies include Silicon Wave (now part of Qualcomm), inSilica, EEsof K.K., Hewlett Packard and Ford Aerospace. His success in establishing EEsof K.K.’s subsidiary in Japan and quadrupling sales in three years was published as a case study by the American Electronics Association in their book Soft Landing Japan. He has authored numerous articles on technology including his pioneering work in conceiving an bringing to fruition the concept of mixed signal virtual hardware which was published in Microwaves & RF (April 1995).



He has an MBA from UCLA Anderson with a concentration in finance and corporate valuation and a M.S.E.E. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
