Kempner was recently appointed by President Barack Obama to serve as a member of the White House Council for Community Solutions, helping to create lasting community based solutions to help reengage the more than 4 million American disenfranchised youth. He also serves as a Board Member of the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship, a leading international organization that creates classroom based entrepreneurship training to disadvantaged youth.

Kempner also serves on the Board of Directors of the Center for Food Action, where Kempner helps in the oversight of one of Northern New Jersey’s most critical food banks and as a Board Member of BergenPac, a leading community based Performing Arts Center in Englewood, New Jersey.

Mr. Kempner has also held several positions in government at the State and Federal levels, including the posts of Legislative Director to Congressman Robert G. He has also served as Deputy Finance Director of the Democratic National Committee and as a member of President Carter's Reelection Committee staff. After serving as National Finance Co-Chair for Hillary Clinton for President and as a member of the Obama for President National Finance Committee, Kempner is currently NJ Finance Chair for the Democratic National Committee and a member of the DNC National Finance Council. Kempner has been named a member of the State of New Jersey, Government Advisory Council on Volunteerism and Community Service an organization that encourages the expansion of volunteerism and community service in the state by advising and supporting the mission and initiatives of the Governor's Office of Volunteerism.


A frequent lecturer on a variety of public relations, management and marketing issues, Mr. Kempner is the author of numerous articles on marketing, financial transactions and crisis communications. Mr. Kempner was recently honored as PR Weeks’ Public Relations Executive of the Year and by the Stevie International Business Awards as Communications Executive of the Year and International Communications Executive of the Year. Kempner was also awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by PR News for his two decades of contributions to the public relations industry and his leadership of MWW Group and was inducted into the Public Relations Hall of Fame in 2009. In 2005, he was named Public Relations Professional of the Year by the Public Relations Society of America, New Jersey Chapter. Most recently, Kempner was named one of the top 5 national leaders in Corporate Social Responsibility.

Mr. Kempner was named one of the Top 50 N.J. Business People by The Business Journal of New Jersey, one of the Top 100 Business People in New Jersey and to the “Power 100” by Business News New Jersey. Additionally, Kempner was named one of the 50 Most Interesting People in New Jersey by New Jersey Monthly magazine. Kempner is a two time winner of the "New Jersey's Finest" award and a four-time finalist of Inc.magazines' Entrepreneur of the Year award. Kempner is also a member of the Deans Advisory Committee of the American University School of Communications.
