The McCain campaign has now said publicly that they don't think Sarah Palin should have to answer any questions from the media. Since a free press is the only way the People can ask the questions we have a right to know, maybe the media should stop granting access to McCain "spokesmen" until their candidate for Vice President of The United States answers some questions. There are legitimate questions to be asked and, as one of The People, I'd like to start with the following:
1 - Did you really ban books from that library up there? Did you fire a librarian over it? Can you tell us your feelings about censorship in a democracy?
2 - Did you really tell the secessionist group in Alaska that they were doing great work? This same group whose leader said in an interview that, "The fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American government?"
3 - Did you abuse the governor's office by trying to get your brother-in-law fired from the state police?
4 - Exactly what is it about Alaska's "proximity to Russia" that qualifies as "foreign policy experience?"
5 - When Campbell Brown on CNN asked McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds to name one decision that you made concerning the Alaska National Guard that qualifies you for the office you seek, why is that considered "over the line?" Do the People no longer have the right to know the candidates' qualifications before electing them to office?
6 - When you say that the Iraq war is a mission from God, what exactly do you mean? And which God are we talking about? Exactly how far does that God want us to go? When does God think we should withdraw? What does God think about the war in Afghanistan? Russia? China? Does God have any thoughts on the housing crisis?
7 - When you said in your acceptance speech that, "Al Qaeda terrorists still plot to inflict catastrophic harm on America ... he's [Obama's] worried that someone won't read them their rights," are you suggesting that we should suspend the use of Miranda Rights for anyone deemed by the government to be a terrorist? What legal process would deem an arrested individual a "terrorist?" What other basic rights do you feel should be abolished in the "War on Terror?"
8 - What are your thoughts about the separation of church and state? When you say you want to teach "creationism" in schools, what other elements of Christianity should be taught in schools? In order to design that curriculum, would priests have to be put on our school boards? Should any other religions be taught in school? Judaism? Islam? Buddhism? Or do the children growing up in those households not have the same rights as the ones growing up in yours? Should Christianity also be incorporated into the offices of government?
Readers, if you have any more questions you'd like to be answered, please post them in the comments. You are The People, you have a right to know. Anyone that tells you that you don't have a right to know should clarify exactly what they mean by the freedom they will defend with their very last breath.

Are you aware that Jesus was a Liberal?
I would like to know if she practiced abstinence before marriage and whether she was a virgin when she got married. Normally I would say it's none of my business, but she wants other unmarried people to abstain from sex before marriage I think it's a fair question. She can't get even get her own daughter to follow this position.T oo bad no one will ever ask becasuse it will be deemed "off limits."
1. Did you ever support the Bridge to Nowhere?
2. Would seek to influence John McCain on Supreme Court justice appointments to overturn Roe v Wade, and make abortions in the case of rape or incest illegal??
3. Did you hire a lobbyist and travel to Washington annually to support earmarks for the town of Wasilla totaling $27 million
4. Were the words "under God" always a part of the Pledge of Allegiance?
5. Did you urge ministry students to pray for a plan to build a $30 billion natural gas pipeline in Alaskathe state, calling it "God's will."
6. Do you believe in the Christian end times and do you support training young people to be ready to fight in God's name against supernatural powers?
Democrats, insulting Palin is not working... .nitpickin g her for details is a losing strategy.. .we need to counteract the pictures which the citizens of this country are falling in love with. They are saying that Palin may have accepted earmarks but gee, did you see the little baby with Down's Syndrome? She is a mother that would kill to defend her baby and that means more to the country than the earmark stuff. Did you see her three year old spit comb the baby's hear during the RNC? Where do you think the kid learned that? In a book? No, mothers have been doing that for years and obviously little daughter is copying something she saw her mama do. The spit comb is wiping out the bridge to nowhere. AIin't nobody listening to left wing pot smoking anti-family types. We need more pictures of Biden and Obama in action with the family. America knows what Michelle Obama would have done to that downe syndrome baby...abo rtion in month 1. There would be no pictures of spit combing. America knows what Biden would do with a pregnant 17 year old daughter.. .off to the clinic for a vacuum job. Symbolism is winning this election. Who would you rather have running your country? The lady with the troubled but loved family and the man with the adopted colored children, or the lawyer and the lawyer who think it is stupid to believe in a god.
If you are a bulldog with a lipstick, then why are you running away from interviews on reputable networks? What are you hiding? The empty shell that you are!! Obama should start attacking this woman. Obama must not be worried that people are going to think that he's attacking a woman! He will not be attacking a woman but a Bulldog! Obama should stop acting like a chicken, and start attacking otherwise he's going to lose.
What are your views on the constitutionality of Presidential Signing Statements?
With regard to the Charlie Gibson interview, I'd imagine the deal includes all softball questions. This interview will probably be steered toward her "center" views. If there are questions about abortion, gay rights or her record in alaska. i will be thouroghly suprised. So as not to appear unfair or sexist. She wont be asked any question that she doesnt feel "comfortable" answering. Personally, i think shes way over rated. She clearly doesnt have the experience, background temperment or judgement to be V.P. Thats not even saying anything about her governing style. Its we the people, not we the few and privileged. I think somebody needs to make it clear to her that the U.S. is alot bigger than she thinks, or maybe we as a colletive havent been kicked in the teeth by the republicans enough to realize their interests arent the best for the country. It might take 4 or 8 more years beofre we stand up and say ENOUGH .

How do these ideals influence your current ideas of the rules of engagement with prisoners during wartime (in terms of human rights), especially in light of past US military policy, the UN's Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and Bush's current policy?
Please explain why you feel choosing to have a special needs baby is a plus, if you dont intend to raise this child yourself? It would not be possible to run for vice president, let alone, be an active vice president and also be an active part of this child's young life. Choosing to have your husband/ch ildren/nan ny raise this child instead of you does not make make you a good person for your choice to have this child.
Also, although you feel you represent the working mothers, not so all of us. I raised 3 children by myself, however, would have gladiy chosen to stay home with my kids if I could afford to. You do NOT represent ALL of us working mothers.

Great points and questions posted on this thread recently.. . Please, send these and all other relevant questions over to AB.C and C. Gibson. He needs to know we expect him not to play softball w/ the Gov.
Every question, no matter what, is considered an attack. She is obligated to talk to reporters. The fact that they are shielding her is proof she is not ready for the office. She's the "American Idol" candidate. Totally packaged. They know she can't give coherent answers to questions.
I'm sure she's studying up on the answers to every possible question - that's why they're refusing to let her talk to the press for awhile. The sad thing is, it will work. Our only hope is to get out the vote - young people need to win this for our Country's sake!
Is it possible that Huffington Post can start a petition to all of the major networks promoting a complete blackout of McCain/Palin coverage until Gov. Palin agrees to a press conference with multiple reporters ?
If I'm going to be expected to make an informed, educated decision about our next Pres/VP, I would like the opportunity to hear her answer some of these suggested questions, unscripted, in her own words. It's not enough to list the questions here (although there are some great ones). We must demand the opportunity to ask them.
A single interview with Charlie Gibson is not the level of reporting necessary in a presidential election.
I'm a bit confused by John McCain's life history. He was shot down from his plane above Hanoi and was rescued from angry civilians, taken prisoner and tortured etc. What was he actually doing in his plane ? Was he dropping propaganda leaflets or something more sinister like bombs on non-combatants? And this is something to be proud of?
