8 Questions for Palin -- If You Really "Work For Me," Then Interview for the Job

The McCain campaign has now said publicly that they don't think Sarah Palin should have to answer any questions from the media. Since a free press is the only way the People can ask the questions we have a right to know, maybe the media should stop granting access to McCain "spokesmen" until their candidate for Vice President of The United States answers some questions. There are legitimate questions to be asked and, as one of The People, I'd like to start with the following:

1 - Did you really ban books from that library up there? Did you fire a librarian over it? Can you tell us your feelings about censorship in a democracy?

2 - Did you really tell the secessionist group in Alaska that they were doing great work? This same group whose leader said in an interview that, "The fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American government?"

3 - Did you abuse the governor's office by trying to get your brother-in-law fired from the state police?

4 - Exactly what is it about Alaska's "proximity to Russia" that qualifies as "foreign policy experience?"

5 - When Campbell Brown on CNN asked McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds to name one decision that you made concerning the Alaska National Guard that qualifies you for the office you seek, why is that considered "over the line?" Do the People no longer have the right to know the candidates' qualifications before electing them to office?

6 - When you say that the Iraq war is a mission from God, what exactly do you mean? And which God are we talking about? Exactly how far does that God want us to go? When does God think we should withdraw? What does God think about the war in Afghanistan? Russia? China? Does God have any thoughts on the housing crisis?

7 - When you said in your acceptance speech that, "Al Qaeda terrorists still plot to inflict catastrophic harm on America ... he's [Obama's] worried that someone won't read them their rights," are you suggesting that we should suspend the use of Miranda Rights for anyone deemed by the government to be a terrorist? What legal process would deem an arrested individual a "terrorist?" What other basic rights do you feel should be abolished in the "War on Terror?"

8 - What are your thoughts about the separation of church and state? When you say you want to teach "creationism" in schools, what other elements of Christianity should be taught in schools? In order to design that curriculum, would priests have to be put on our school boards? Should any other religions be taught in school? Judaism? Islam? Buddhism? Or do the children growing up in those households not have the same rights as the ones growing up in yours? Should Christianity also be incorporated into the offices of government?

Anyone that tells you that you don't have a right to know should clarify exactly what they mean by the freedom they will defend with their very last breath.

clarify on #1. Book banning. She didn't ban any books. She inquired about the possibility.
I want to know what books she wanted to ban if the librarian would have been amenable to the idea. But she wasn't and then she tried to have her fired ?!

We know that she is proud of the 'correct choice' her daughter made with regard to keeping and having the baby. Is she also proud of her Abstinence only sex education plan? Does she agree / not agree that this plan obviously failed her daugher. Does she think that Abstinence only sex ed is a realistic policy for the nation? Is she concerned about the issue of teenage pregancy on a national scale? Does she see a link between absintence only sex-ed & teenage pregnancy ?

When is it ok to fire someone with whom you have a disagreement with.

She vetoed funding for special needs education. Now that she has a special needs child, she is for special needs education. Explain why this is not hypociritcal.

You promote & condone the hunting of wolves from helicopters?

Identify one statement (or a unique visisionary idea) from your acceptance speach (or a new as yet unheard unique visisionary idea) that is not an attack on another and offers solution to the nations problems, besides of course Drill, Drill, Drill.

Clarify: Your 'executive experience' was gained as seeking earmarks for the State of Alaska, and your reformer experience is then renouncing the earmarks

How can you consider it out of bounds and sexist for us to ask if you can handle being second in line to run the country when we see you walk on stage with an unwed pregnant teen daughter and it looks to us like you haven't been successful at running your family. Most working moms manage to avoid this fate.

Pres Bush used several reasons and justifications for invading Iraq, including that Saddam Huessein threatened the life of his father. Would you use the power of your office (make policy) to address issues concerning your family members?

I am concerned about a lot of things with Palin, and most questions have been asked. I would really like to know if Sara Palin is planning to have more children? With all the troubles in the world today I am not comfortable with a pregnant VP, because with age there is also higher risks and she might not be able to perform her duties. I am trying to be delicate and not offend anyone. This is not a sexist question it is a possible reality.

Her obvious absence from any political Sunday morning news show says it all. Obviously even the GOP realizes that they can't produce her and that sarcasm without substance shows ignorance. However, it is also obvious that by her absence from any interviews they are trying to get her up to speed, while trying to blame the media...... Poor Sarah can only be sarcastic but can't handle honest worthwhile questions from reporters.... It stinks. The arrogance of the whole thing. Additionally, I truly think the GOP went over the line with their attacks on Obama. During the whole convention all they could do is attack without giving an solutions to problems. The uppity remark from Westmorland was over the top and shows that the GOP are a bunch of bigoted right wing extremists.... BTW I am white and I am offended and embarrassed.

Sixteen Saudi Arabians highjack US airplanes to be used as weapons on our homeland, on the orders of a Saudi Arabian living in Aghanistan. Afghanistan a country in league with Pakistan, a country whose president came to power in a coup. Would you invade Morrocco? Somalia? Lybia? Switzerland?

The answer is, yes. And it is my fervent hope that we exercise this right--that we don't elect someone into office without knowing who they are, what they believe, and what they've done. So, really, there's no law that says McCain has to allow us access to Palin to answer our questions. And there's no law that says we have to vote for them, either. And anyone who does vote for them under these circumstances, if they win, deserves what he or she gets--but the rest of us don't, and we'll have to endure the consequences along with the rest of the world.

All of these questions merit answers. She's in with the big leagues now.
I believe Palin's ambition and her belief that she has moral authority on her side made her say yes when the answer should have been "No...I'm kinda busy right now".

Good questions, but good luck getting our anemic MSM to ask them. I can think of only a few journalists who would be willing to ask them and they will never be allowed to get within 10 feet of SP.
