Sarah Palin: There's Just So Much To Remember!

digg Share this on Facebook Huffpost - stumble reddit del.ico.us RSS

Yeah, yeah, yeah - we're supposed to lay off her now, we're not supposed to draw any more attention to her than she's already getting. Sorry, can't do it. I'm no quitter.

Play the video and marvel at the ventriloquist doll parroting her talking points. And to all of you who keep talking about her dignity and integrity as valid replacements for education, intellect and judgement, I have three things to say to you: One, who cares? I know a lot of people with dignity and integrity who shouldn't be elected to office. Two, the record of her integrity is withering daily. And, three, you should be more concerned with your own dignity and integrity if you would vote for someone this mind-blowingly ignorant, after seeing what eight years of a similarly vacant brain could do to a nation.

SARAH-GEDDON
by Mark Ames --- The Nation --- September 15, 2008

Palin thrilled at the prospect of taking America to war with Russia over Georgia on behalf of Big Oil giant BP - McCain and his lobbyists in this up to their eyeballs.

It's sad to say, but I am convinced that no matter how cruel and vapid and unprepared
Palin is, no matter how craven and cynical McCain has become (or always been),
they will win. This is a watershed moment for the country. The informationally-challenged,
ignoramuses red-staters are going into this with their eyes wide open. We as a country
will have no more excuses. I'm dying for Obama to win, but if America wants to be this
stupid, then it must suffer the consequences of these decisions: more war, no healthcare,
radical [clerics], i.e., Justices, etc. I am truly frightened.

Ok now, this Republican gold mine... lying lips that are still lying...of open transparency my butt,... standing up to big oil-iron clad guts, earmark pork barrel fighter, new reformers campaign voice who wants to shack up Washington...this unprincipled person is now running scared. And, stil the both of them are campaigning the rehearsed LIES.

She now won't face Troopergate investigators in Alaska! And, can't "meet the press" in the Greater 48, to me that's a squirrel humping on a chicken's leg.

The McCain/Palin rouges are showing a great disservice to the American people.

NoWay! NoHow! NoMcCain/Palin

okay, i love it, but why are you not going after her about the fact that HER HUSBAND IS A KNOWN TRAITOR. To want to leave the United States is TREASON. Why is this not cool to talk about? Grow a pair and hit em where it hurts.

Epically incompetent.

That fits the GOP profile to a tee.

But be and sure to keep it to yourself because we don't want anyone fixating on it......what?

Oh, come on now. I've watched Sarah in her interviews and speeches, and she speaks powerfully. She speaks to me. She says Americans are special, a great nation. She speaks like me, I relate to her, she is patriotic, and determined. She even likes some of the same things. Go Sarah!

She makes me think, maybe I could be president.

My intentions are good, but I don't know anything about international politics, and I've traveled all over the world. I don't know anything about the economy, and we need someone who is willing to address the issue, who can address the issue, rather than let the military market and Middle East and Wall Street suck us dry. We need someone who blinks, who thinks about the cost war, rather than benefiting from it like Cheney.

Naahh, it's too important to fix the country, it's not like when Clinton was in office, peace, prosperous, government surplus. We could afford chances then.

But American is broken. We must fix it.

Hey, Democrats support family values, they work to prevent kids having babies. And national security experts agree that Obama is best on national security, he listens, he thinks, he blinks. Didn't Palin say she wouldn't blink? He also has really good ideas on stimulating the economy by investing in alternative energy initiatives. McCain and Palin claim the same thing, right? But didn't they both vote against these initiatives?

Hey, Obama gets it, he has a plan, on lots of things.

The point as I see it is for the campaign and Obama/Biden to focus on McCain while the rest of us and the surrogates fry whatever we can on her arse. Hillary has done herself a bad turn as 2012 people going to remember her sitting on her hands and playinglike she has no stake in this election when she surely does. Where is she and all of her glass ceiling cracking? Why does she think it's ok to use her to threaten Obama? Where is she on the palin/McCain wanting to deny women'a rights? Missing in action. Instead other women are surrpgates sstanding up where she isn't willing to. Her husband Bill said he will now stand up a speak for Obama but tue lack of support from Hillary will follow her.

So true. I couldn't agree more. We knew McCain's character had the integrity of a watertight seive...the same can be said regarding his health. Palin should have been the third strike -- confirming his judgment still takes a back seat to the wants of the little boy in him that drools over chilly, down-home, neocons of the skirted persuasion (ask his first wife...she knows the truth that he so blantantly lied about in his memoir). After the recent revelations of how many republican senators obviously missed their calling into the priesthood, I guess infidelity and skirt-chasing is a badge of honor for these homophobes.

Full of contradictions, this party. McCain dated his current platinum giled ice-queen for six months before he split with his current wife, yet he has the support of the moral conservatives? And why didn't anyone find it funny that Rudy Giuliani was the one who they brought up to the podium to tell people never to underestimate the things a republican can get done despite having five children? Rudy, please spare us all the details of all you personally fit into a day (or evening) when New York and (your wife at the time) weren't looking. You smug bastard.

Hey, I can see Mass General Hospital from here. Does that make me qualified to perform brain surgery, Ms. Palin? No more than looking at a condom while you're being "Drilled Here! Drilled Now!" makes you an expert in teen pregnancy prevention...

For a person who declared she wanted to be president before she was ever elected mayor she did very little to prepare herself. But then, she has been so busy attacking, firing, and otherwise molesting her fellow Alaskans that there was very little time for reading, traveling, or contemplation.

Okay, I would like to bring up a few points. The first is that it is absolutely the American Dream that ANYONE--- I repeat ANYONE-- CAN be president. That is why people like Sarah Palin. They like that they relate to her. They like that they think they could hang out with her. Her being approachable is much more than a flash in the pan- it demonstrates her MEDIA savvy, and the AUDIENCE acceptance of her. If you think that the GOP is not running her because of her mass appeal-- read Wal Mart, and Television. The problem is that we, as independent, democratic, liberal, intellectuals, have expectations of the media. Our expectation is that the media is there to be questioned. The other side, the Wal Mart moms, the folks who feel good about going to Church on Sunday, those same folks who want very much for small town values to be AMERICAN VALUES, (and who btw, think that these same values are universal), and who are extremely nostalgic for a simple time, when those ideals were distributed widely on television, and consumed by a hungry national audience as a demonstration of normalcy. These folks, who are good, decent, Americans, are searching for that nostalgia. That is why they support the neocons- call it what it is- neoconservatism speaks to people who believe that they or their parents lived in a simpler time. And they want to see that simpler time invigorated.

stacey, you are absolutely right that it shows the good side of the country that anybody can become the president or vice-president, but that person should have some qualification to qualify for that position. Anybody can get into Harvard, irrespective of social standing or financial position, but still some basic criteria is needed otherwise Harvard would lose its status/authority. Coming to the 'ordinary, decent folks' part, we should remember that the president is not the pastor of the local church or the local law enforcement officer (no offence meant to either of them). The Wal-Mart moms should understand that the deparaved liberals too want simpler times but they realise that its not nostalgia but shrewd diplomacy that is needed to survive the present times.
