Mr. Palestine? Oh, Please!

The cover is real. (It's not The Onion.) The stickies, however, are mine.

And while we contemplate nonsensical stories highlighting a hesitant president's non-function in a non-summit, let's not overlook the real choreographer here, and the "instrumental role" Mr. Palestine's "It Girl" played while Iraq burned.

Pretty much like all the other acts of this
neotragedy. Shrub enters the stage. Strutting

or heckofjob. Then he quickly exits stage right

Actually, it is my media-enthused hope that there will someday be a Mr. World Pageant. Did you see Monday's Dr. Phil, where he retrieved a girl who'd run off to Palestine to be with a boy she fell for on My Space? That American girl ditched him for an "American boy" as Dr. Phil slung it. Now that young Palestinian boys have a new pin up girl, and now that we know how cute boys are in Palestine...a new Model T may have just left the factory.

The only way Palestine will come into existence as a nation-state is IF (won't happen) the Palestinians accept it. They will lose their trump card and have to actually start governing themselves. But then again, all the money wasted on the war could be sent to help them build an infrastructure. I would rather my tax dollars go to them than to kill Iraqis.

I have serious doubts there will be a peace agreement. Israel will continue to put up "settlements" which are nothing less than the theft of Palestinian land and an act of ethnic cleansing. Israel will refuse to give this stolen land back and thereby will sink any chance of a serious peace.

Until America stands up to the unholy alliance of Christian and Jewish rightwing Zionists, we will not be able to help engineer a meaningful peace.

I do think that on some level the only person that could broker this deal is a US President. But not this US President.

Any suggestion that the Bush Administration has ever made, or ever will make, genuine efforts to bring about a just and lasting peace between Israel and the Arab world is ludicrous. Bush and the neocons have never wanted peace or anything approaching a stable relationship there.

Rather, they prefer that things remain relatively unstable. Peace would deprive them of the ability to play the parties against each other, and the ability to further the neocons' plans to colonialize and dominate the region.

Another reason they do not want peace is that instability in the region affords the Bush/Cheney big oil conspiracy a fraudulent, yet still effective, excuse to continue their gouging of the American people at the pump.

Anyone with a modicum of brain cells and an ounce of integrity will call the so called summit at Annapolis just what it is - a charade, and a rather pathetic one at that.

The problem is this charade may actually set back any opportunity for real peace in the foreseeable future. Looking at Bush's record so far, there is real potential for disaster, as has been each of his endeavors conducted in the name of the American people.

So far, I've come up with "eternal simp" and "lie span term" both of which seem appropriate, but I'm not sure if they're the solution.

I guess The Economist wants to kiss up to Bush for some financial gain. There is no other explanation for such false propaganda.
