With the end of the Democratic race, one thing I'm simply dying for is less noise and steerage from the Page Six-inspired traditional media.

I hit my limit last night, the cable, broadcast and magazine folks seemingly unable to fix a good look at Obama's historic achievement for fear of forsaking their narcotic fixation on the Hillary-Barack soap opera. Looking at these three web features late in the evening, each sporting pics dug out of the archives -- I couldn't help thinking of each as ultimate indictments of these willfully divisive hysteria-makers.

It's a sad day that we can't enjoy Senator Obama's nomination because the news people continue to give the leader of The Pitchfork Brigade attention and face time. If we ignore her, maybe she'll just go away? Nah.......She's a Clinton.

XME:

I did just that. I used to admire Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton. I urged her to step aside, that the problems we face as a nation are far larger than one person or a personality.

Be a part of the change Hillary pursue something larger than your campaign.

I couldn't agree more.

I have to say, it was refreshing last night to hear Tim Russert speak to the role of the media in how a campaign plays out. He actually acknowledged that if the media (and he used the word "we" to include himself and his station) would quit latching on to these non-issue, gotchas and focus on the real issues that will impact people's lives then the campaigns could be forced to be more civil and substantive.

One can only hope. And with Obama securing the nomination we should have a little more of that than before.

It's the same thing this morning on CNN. They are hammering on one issue, the VP thing, as if the anchors will be fired if they don't get someone, anyone, to admit Hillary wants the job. It's freakish, obsessive, devoid of journalistic integrity, and almost embarassing to watch.

Yup...and apparently that's just the way Hillary wanted it. I checked out her website this morning, and she has a splashscreen up that's basically asking folks to sign a "petition" encouraging her to keep fighting! It then goes to a donation page!! The media is unfortunately following her lead, and she's just proving what everyone has believed all along..that party unity and winning in November are not her interest, if she can't be the nominee.

I'D ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO GO TO http://www.hillaryclinton.com/help/contact/ AND NICELY ENCOURAGE TO BACK THE PRESUMTIVE NOMINEE INSTEAD OF ENCOURAGING DIVISION AND BEING RESPONSIBLE FOR A LOSS IN NOVEMBER (maybe be a little nicer than I just was!)
