Beyond evidence of the lingering indignity of Bush's Iraq farewell, I wonder if there might have been nearly so many tight close-ups if it was Fleischer, McClellan or Snow who got popped in the eye.
Then, there was this from a collection of Islamic world cartoons featured at Daily Beast. Translation? : THE LAST THING BUSH SAW IN IRAQ.
... Still, however, my best 02/'03 recollection on the theme -- during the stretch when Cheney/Bush was walking all over the U.N. inspection program -- was Hans Blix planting his loafers on George Senior's face at the El Rasheed.

The black eye will heal, the scars from being Bush's Press Secy will last a lifetime.
Junior seems to have that effect on people.
Look at the bright side....at least she had her "shinning moment" [such as it is] with her job at the Whitehouse.
Now that's loyalty. A shoe gets thrown at Bush and Dana gets a black eye. Medal ceremony soon.
The only SHINING moment of the white house in the last eight years.
Womaen and men treated differently?
Who knew?
Seriously, I think that if it was Snow, Fleishcer or McClellan there would have been MORE outrage from the nut job wing (a large large wing) of the Republican party. As a party representing the interests of wealthy white men, they would have identified more with a middle age white man being hurt than they do with Dana. It's not that I think Republicans have any trouble with Dana, she slavishly repeats tje administrations non-sensical talking points and is perfectly shameless about it. It's just that women aren't anywhere near the "core" of the republican value system, so a womans problems just aren't as visceral to them as if it had happened to a white man.
That's my opinion anyway.
Spin-derella got a shiner!!!!
By the way, saw Late Night with Conan O'brien, he did still frames of the shoe throwing in Iraq. While al-Zaidi was being subdued, there was another unindentified man sitting in a seat with his shoe in hand ready to throw towards Bush.
Spin-derella LOL. that's funny. I have no compassion for this woman or Bush. The fact that all he had is two shoes thrown at him (and a black eye for his Spin-derella) after 8 yrs of competence, Bush should count himself as lucky.
This sorry woman did not know what cuban missles crisis was. I have never seen her answering any questions.. a servant to match the boss. know nothing, to represent 50% of Americans who are WOMEN! what a shame, they could not find an educated woman to do that cushy job.
I meant to say "incompetence".
