Reading The Pictures: McCain Ad Ties Sex With Race
In today's trip to the swamp, the McCain campaign's latest attack video ostensibly targets the Obama's education plan.
... Except, the issue serves as nothing more than a foil to intimate that Obama -- shown in the screen shot with a smarmy grin and his coat looking frumpy -- desires to sexualize the lives of young children. More odious, however, it's also an example of the McCain campaign playing the race card, activating stereotypes of the black man -- seeming to gaze dreamily at something below (or shorter than) him -- as driven by sexual appetite.

Obama did support sex education being taught in kindergarten. He stated this at a primary debate last year and a speech at Planned Parenthood.
"Sex education" is a broad term. Obama stated Kindergarten kids should know the difference between a "good" touch versus a "bad" one, simple things like that, I don't remember him going any further than that. McCain should be ashamed of himself, looks like old Karl Rove has entered his campaign. McCain in NOT a hero in my book.
Prove what you state. I do not believe it.

This is a defining moment for Obama ... we've all seen him do the high road thing ... now we want to see him get in somebodies boody.
The McCain camp has been running a just under the radar smear campaign for months.
This time they're over the line.
Ads like that gets them no independents, no Democrats. They're appealing to their base--even though it's a blatant lie, they will listen to whatever McCain tells them. These kind of ads only energize Obama supporters...we need to make sure to get people out there to register to vote.
This is NOT over! It's been only ONE week since Palin's strident address to the RNC. Ted Steven's trial starts Sept. 26 - and he will be convicted - and tied to Palin and McCain. The debates are still a few weeks off. The Republicans are peaking too soon, grossly over-confident in their sleaze tactics and "win the next news cycle" philosophy. Remember: voter turn-out for this election will be HUGE-maybe the largest percentage in our nation's history. That will favor all Democratic candidates. Obama continues to make his campaign about individuals becoming something greater than the sum of our parts. The Republicans continue to make this only about winning the election-by whatever means necessary. I will continue to donate my money to Obama, work to register voters, and speak out in support of him and other Democratic candidates. A lot can and will happen before Nov. 4, and on the morning of Nov. 5, Obama will be the President-elect.
The media shares resposibility for the SMEARING of OBama with this sexual ad - especially MSNBC< CNN and FOX. People like Joe Scaroborough, Pat Buchanan and David Gregory are LOVIN"N it. Talk show pundits on MSNBC are dispicable in their total dsregard for the truth. Their constant grovelling over Sarah Padin is so unbelievable for people who call themselves MEDIA. Journalists, they are NOT!!!! Obama is a decent man, and deserves so much better from America.
Unfortunately, Michael you are only hurting Obama with these types of pieces. Think. The majority of the individuals reading are those who support Obama. It will energize them to vote, but for the population who are still on the fence, they will only hear about this through the grapevine and further distance themselves from Obama.
I do not think Michael is hurting Obama. A picture says a thousand words. Michael is only pointing out the obvious about this ad. The people who do not like Obama or are on the fence about voting for him will look at this ad and make a judgment just by looking at this picture. Some white Americans think all black men think about is sex and this pictures just re-enforces their thoughts. Not only are the words in this ad offensive, but the picture is even worst. Michael's explaination of this picture has hit the target. It is better to educate the people than leave them dumb and ignorant.
This vile, outrageous ad is what the Republicans do, - "Willy Horton," - the smear on Congressman
Harold Ford - nothing is below them, nothing to vile, - and this is how they win. But this is new
low even for them. And McCain, and his train wreck of a VP choice need to apologize to
Senator Obama and to the American people. McCain was slimed, and he has not only crawled on
his belly like a reptile to the people who slimed him - he has hired those people to slime
Senator Obama. And instead of discussing real issues - it always comes down to this.
And those bastards - the Republicans win - with this slime - everytime.
They play on the ignorance of the people - they pitch this garbage to - and those people
are ignorant, dumb - and are RACISTS - that's what this is about also.

This ad is so outrageous I think Obama should actually sue for deflamation of character. I wonder if this is something a lawyer could and would take on right away.

this ad is absolutely disgusting! where is the outrage in the media or the explanation of what it is all about? Obama wanting to make sure our children are PROTECTED. This is so damaging and just really the bottom of the barrel low.
We liberal might need to do the reverse psychology on McSame. Does anybody know where we can find the 2000 Bush smearing adds on McSame?
