Reading The Pictures: Palin's Place (Revisited)
Bristol and Levi Johnston have broken up? You're kidding!
This recent award-winning image by photographer Melina Mara takes us back to Campaign '08's biggest snow job. I mean, it's all there: the smirk; the fact sister Willow was mostly the one schlepping Trig; and the irony -- since Bristol's since had her own baby -- of being left holding the bottle. (And then, contributing to the family values, remember First Dude's tendency -- out of the spotlight -- to put all kinds of distance between himself and little Trig?)
(With a few more winning shots in mind) I imagine Sarah -- simply a natural when it comes to children -- must be thrilled.
(Update: Embarrassingly, and thanks to the correction of my readers -- who I hope have otherwise at least partly acquired their sharp eyes from me -- I have mistaken Willow for Bristol in the photo above. Please forgive my mistake and enjoy Ms. Mara's excellent images, and have at it, as you will, in this look back at the Palin clan. With the correction, what the photo does is realize how then 17-year-old Bristol would soon be lugging her own baby (without Levi around). And, as for Willow (center), maybe Bristol's experience might actually help her avoid being left holding a bottle.)

Palin is a big Phony and I feel sorry her children had to be brought into the limelight @ such a critcal point her their lives!!
WOW! You mess up your reporting by mistaking the person you are trying to attack, you show little respect for a girl who probably recognizes she's put herself in a bad position (kicking her while she's down)....and finally you fail to acknowledge that children (although their parents will try to guild them) have their own will, and can inevitably make mistakes....just like adults.
To call Sara Palin and her husband 'phonie' conservatives because her daugher got pregnant....very narrow thinking (or just down-right meaness).

willow is the only member of the family that we don't know anything about except that she is the middle child.
Dear God, if only this were the last we would hear of these frosted mountain williams, but that is not to be, I'm sorry to say. The first thing that comes to mind watching this ever evolving train wreck of dysfunctionality is that it would be the premise for Bravo's next program; "The Real Housewives (kinda) of Wasilla". Mutha Sarah is going to need the residuals when she gets booted out of Juneau after the next election.

You people are sick. I can truly see why this country has become a place where critizing someone else is all that mattersas long as you are intertained. The majority of you think that everything you read in the rags you call journalism, or the talking heads like MSNBC is the absolute truth. It is no wonder that you worked to get an administration elected so they can destroy this nation. It would appears to me that you should worry about your future as opposed to trashing someone whom you know nothing about.

You are the only one speaking with any brains. It seems the rest love other people's misery (conservatives). Have these people looked into the lives of Pelosi, Reid, and the other so called "moral people"? They had better check their own lives to make sure they are as moral as they seem to think the Palin's aren't. They are doing the best they can in a very hard time within the spotlight of LIBERAL newsmedia. Do they honestly think that MSNBC, NBC, CNN tell the truth??? It's so funny they have the lowest ratings of all the networks.
Bill, I actually agree with at least part of what you are saying. Taking delight in someone else's suffering shows a lack of class. However, I think you would have to admit that Sarah Palin deserves a little of the responsibility. She is the one who brought her children out as props for the campaign. Also, while taking joy in someone else's misfortune is wrong there is, or at least was, a legitimate story here. Bristol is a glaring example of how abstinence only sex education doesn't work.

This 'unbelievable' story is perfectly believeable. Unfortunately, things like this happen nearly every day and in families that are a lot less 'public' about their beliefs than the Palins ever were last fall. Enough already. Anyone with any sense could have seen this coming-EVEN before the election. Two KIDS, neither one out of high school, with the father more interested in partying than being responsible. The contradictions were/are many only because thre was a Presidential Election campaign with all the trimmings.
