LAY-OFFS and "Early Retirement" Hit Tiffany&Co.

More bad news. Just received this email from a good friend whom had worked for many years at T&Co.

"Last night I went out with all these folks from Tiffany that were forced into early retirement- which is a breath of a difference from being laid off.
It's the end of an era for T&Co. (all tolled 800 people left the company yesterday) The brain trust that was in this bar last night was unreal. The most brilliant designers/jewelers that I've ever come across. Most had been with the company for 20 plus years. It was very sad. These were the last remnants of old school Tiffany. John Loring also had his last day yesterday. There should have been an article about it... but no.
They just slipped gently off into the night...."

That's sad. Tiffany's is such an icon of elegance and style in a goofy world.
