Her writing has appeared in many anthologies, including Best American Essays, and she is the author of the travel memoir Grammar Lessons: Translating a Life in Spain. She is currently a Public Voices Faculty Fellow with the OpEd Project.

The Terrible Simplicity of Global Warming

Sometimes in the middle of the night, when I wake and can't get back to sleep again, I look in on my 5-year-old sleeping so peacefully he practically glows, and take a deep breath to calm myself.
