Today's convening opened with Senator John McCain coupled with his running mate, the illusive Governor Sarah Palin sitting in the audience. This was the McCain that we remember before his metamorphosis in this presidential campaign. He was passionate, articulate and strong in his values, and his commitment to solve the biggest economic crisis in the United States. Will the real John McCain please stand up and take off that mask?

We have missed this man that disappeared over the past year as he has shift changed into a man that few of us recognize. On his way to the White House with Senator Barack Obama to meet on the economic crisis, we pray that this is not a slick hat trick. His closing remark certainly did try to torpedo Obama's campaign message of hope by anointing former President Bill Clinton with this branding. Purposeful in his attempt to cause a bit of acrimony, the new McCain exited stage left. We can only "hope" that his campaign shenanigans cease. We need him and his tenacity back.

Remarkably both candidates had similar things to say and laid out multiple point plans to alleviate the economic crisis though Senator Barack Obama ardently spoke for the victims of the mortgage crisis and protecting even more people from losing their homes.

Former President Bill Clinton sure did his job and set the stage for Obama by regaling in stories of their past meeting in his Harlem office. And take it away Obama! His oratory hit it out of the room. The staging was brilliant displaying him in complete presidential posture framed by two American flags only missing the seal of the Oval office for President Barack Obama.

The polemic is that this is the Barack that we have gotten to know and adore. This is the Barack that former President Clinton applauds for his ethics, morality and brilliance. Who is the masked McCain that we saw? Is he the mercurial candidate that will win at all costs or the dedicated war hero that we have grown to know and love?

We will see over the days to come as the leadership of this country struggles to sustain any further fall out from the economic crisis.
