Fourth Of July PHOTOS: 'Awkward Family Photos'

The fourth. It's a time for Dad to overcook the burgers, for Mom to to cover us from head to toe in red, white, and blue, and for the whole family to load beach chairs and blankets into the car so we can enjoy the same fireworks show we've seen every year. So, this Sunday, while our nation celebrates it's independence, we celebrate the fact that we will never be free of family. Happy 4th of July.

Sorry, I consider the Flagwrappers outfit as flag desecration. Know they think they are patrotic, yet I see it differently.

Far as I know, it's only desecration if an actual FLAG is being worn. None of those outfits is a flag in itself; just clothing designed in flag-like colouring...

According to the United States Flag Code, the flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery. Section 3 of the code says "The words “flag, standard, colors, or ensign”, as used herein, shall include any flag, standard, colors, ensign, or any picture or representation of either, or of any part or parts of either, made of any substance or represented on any substance, of any size evidently purporting to be either of said flag, standard, colors, or ensign of the United States of America or a picture or a representation of either, upon which shall be shown the colors, the stars and the stripes, in any number of either thereof, or of any part or parts of either, by which the average person seeing the same without deliberation may believe the same to represent the flag, colors, standard, or ensign of the United States of America."

Bottom line: You shouldn't wear clothing with the flag on it. But since people wearing the flag are professing their patriotism, they are protected by the freedom of speech.

You can tell which one made the stupid flag colored bags those people had to put on to take that horrid #3 picture. It's lady #3 smiling like she just discovered the light bulb. Lady #1 just thinks its funny.
