Last week, the House Energy and Commerce Committee released district by district reports on the Affordable Health Choices Act being worked on in Congress. The results are incredibly encouraging for health care reform advocates because current legislation is estimated to both reduce costs and increase access to thousands of Kansans.
That's why I wanted to pass along some of the data...

The bill will:
Eliminates individual plans. Millions will now pay $1,500-$2,000 mo. or pay the tax for uninsured at a fraction of the cost. How will this make healthcare more affordable?
Mandateds coverage, a joke compared to what all quality plans already offer. How will this improve quality of healthcare?
Has 3 health plans to choose from, there are currently 100's of plans. How will this provide choice?
Government health plan, at best, won't provide any real competition. At it's worst, if the government can actually create a better plan then the insurance industry, it will run companies out of business. How will that increase competition?
The insurance "exchange" will provide a government service, paid by taxpayers. We already have highly trained, licensed professionals who provide these services at no cost to us. How is this better?
Add in the cost for the government insurance, the exchange, tax credits to the poor and noncitizens, all the bureaucracy, as well as government control over healthcare, ANYONE THINK THIS WILL IMPROVE ANYTHING?
This ONLY addresses insurance. What about everything else that effects the cost and quality of healthcare?
We need healthcare reform, but this bill won't do it. Kill this bill, we need REAL reform!

Clearly in TN & VA profit care comes ahead of patient care.
We thought my father had good insurance and was going to the best health care provider. His care was rationed. He died.
