Faced with two lawsuits claiming fraudulent practices in the operation of the now defunct Trump University, The Donald wants to cry foul and claim reverse discrimination because of the ethnicity of the Indiana-born Republican judge hearing the case.

In a startling 13-minute digression during a speech last week in San Diego, the presumptive Republican Party nominee tore into the judge, referring to him as a "Mexican" and a "hater" who showed bias against him because he has allowed fraud lawsuits against Trump University to proceed. "I'm getting railroaded by the legal system," Trump said. "They ought to look into Judge Curiel."
So let's do that. Let's "look into" U.S. District judge, Judge Gonzalo Curiel, a former federal prosecutor who was targeted for a "hit" by a convicted gunman for the Tijuana drug cartel who had been convicted by Curiel.
"As a result of that threat, the prosecutor, Gonzalo Curiel, was placed under 24-hour protection by the marshals for a year. He was moved to a naval base, and later, for a while, to Justice Department headquarters in Washington. When he came back to work, so did the gun toting marshals, trailing him wherever he went."
Despite the danger, Curiel never wavered from his commitment to put Mexican drug traffickers behind bars.
Dishes it Out, But Can't Take it
This is not the first time The Donald has called foul and claimed he was being picked on unfairly. Isn't that just what he did with Megyn Kelly? In both cases, first he insults an entire segment of the population, making broad brush pejorative generalizations hailed by the scape-goat-seeking mob mentality of his followers who praise his crude insults as "honesty"... then he cries foul when his nastiness comes back and kicks him in the ass.
It is honest to admit having racist thoughts. Honesty never excuses bad behavior. Acting on racist thoughts by speaking them aloud in public is racism and is particularly troubling when it is done by someone in a position to hold the highest elected office in the nation - a position requiring great diplomacy and tolerance in dealing with peoples of all colors, nationalities, genders and faiths.
Saying later that you "love THE Latinos" as you eat a meal prepared by chefs in Trump Towers on Cinco de Mayo, does not negate, change or nullify the racist sting of the original comments, especially not while continuing to insist that you WILL build a wall to keep out the Mexican "rapists" and "murderers" as well as those you admitted are "good people" among them.
Mr. Trump has - in his course, vulgar and vile outspoken manner - made it perfectly clear that he is a hateful bigot, not just of Latinos but also of Muslims, women, war heroes, and the disabled who he feels are fair game for his disparaging and degrading remarks.
NOW, Trump is upset when the tables are turned and cries discrimination! That is hysterically funny! It shows Trump's complete lack of understanding of Karma and reaping what you sow. It shows his total inability to take responsibility for any of his actions, but rather to constantly BLAME others for his blunders and failings.

Summary judgments are rare. Fewer than 10 percent of all cases in six key federal district courts between 1975 and 2000 were resolved via summary judgment.
"The [Supreme] Court has made it clear that only in certain, limited cases, will summary judgment be granted. ... We have a Constitution that requires civil cases to be submitted to a jury if there's enough fact and dispute - and that's a pretty important right to most people," according to Kevin Johnson, dean of the University of California, Davis School of Law."
Summary judgment is a "weak filter designed to resolve only the most lopsided of cases where no reasonable jury could find for the other side," said David Freeman Engstrom, Stanford University law professor and expert in civil procedure.

One lawsuit was filed in 2010 by students in California, Florida and New York, and the other in 2013 by a plaintiff who alleged he was misled and upsold to pay for an $35,000 upgrade.
According to the Washington Post: Trump's own defense team said that Curiel "is doing his job," and doing a "good job of trying to balance out competing interests" and that they have no plans to file a motion for the judge to be recused as Trump would like to happen.

Florida Sen. Marco Rubio said, "It's wrong and I hope he stops."
Instead, in classic Trump fashion, he doubled down on his attacks in a Wall Street Journal interview last week, claiming that Curiel had "an absolute conflict" in presiding over the Trump University cases because of his "Mexican heritage."
In a phone call in which he derides his own staffers, Trump allegedly said: "no one has suffered more discrimination than Donnieboy. Tremendous discrimination. The greatest." Boo hoo. Poor rich white boy!
Trump was short-sighted not to anticipate that someday someone from a group he disparaged would be in a position to judge him.
