2 Comments | Posted January 5, 2009 | 01:31 PM (EST)

What is Bush's biggest national security failure?

That's the question National Security Network has tried to tackle in it's new project, Bush's Bombs: A National Security Legacy of Failure.

To answer the question we first had to find them all, and that was no small task. It's...

The Hockey Mom Hoax

Posted September 4, 2008 | 11:42 AM (EST)

"Hockey Moms" were out in force for Sarah Palin last night...at least that's the impression the Republicans wanted you to have.

Last night, I went to the Republican National Convention mainly to see how it differed from festivities in Denver, and boy was it different. Probably one of the...

McCain's Disastrous Politics of Gustav

Posted August 31, 2008 | 01:51 AM (EST)

Today, Obama stated that he would stay out of the way as Hurricane Gustav once again threatens the Gulf Coast. Even Bush, who three years ago celebrated Katrina's landfall at John McCain's birthday party, is staying away.

What does McCain do? Just like he did when he traveled...

What's Wrong with this Hurricane?

Posted August 30, 2008 | 01:37 PM (EST)

I just noticed that the daily brief customarily done in advance of a hurricane is happening because Gustov is bearing down on the Gulf Coast...but a big shift here: the briefing is being given by NORTHCOM. So what does this tell us and why does it matter? It tells...

McCain Gaffe Alert: Iran

Posted May 28, 2008 | 01:34 PM (EST)

It is looking increasingly like John McCain really knows nothing about Iran, despite wanting to bomb them.

Yesterday, in his big non-proliferation speech, McCain took his gaffes to a new level. He actually invented 20 years of negotiations between the United States and Tehran. In his speech, McCain said:

McCain's "Miss America" Promise on Iraq

Posted May 15, 2008 | 12:29 PM (EST)

Donald Trump take note: apparently John McCain is running for Miss America.

In a big speech in Columbus, McCain tells us that he hopes that all our troops will be coming home in 2013. A currently non-existent League of Democracies will be handling Darfur and Al Qaeda will be...

Brownstein to McCain: Explain Yourself on Iraq

Posted May 2, 2008 | 01:40 PM (EST)

In an article published today, Ron Brownstein addresses the fundamental issue surrounding John McCain's position on Iraq: the fact that he has not explained what his position is.

"McCain, under any interpretation of his words, is proposing another mission in Iraq--a long vigil--that would extend for decades. With...

New Litmus Test for the Democratic Nominee: Attack John McCain

Posted April 28, 2008 | 09:02 PM (EST)

It all started in Iowa and here we are in the wake of Pennsylvania and it's still not over. The Democratic faithful are weary of reading the news every day: Who's up, who's down, who's racist, and who's sexist. It's a game everyone is tired of.

Surprisingly, there has...

How Many "Gaffes" Equal Incompetence?

Posted April 15, 2008 | 01:07 PM (EST)

John McCain screwed up on Foreign Policy 101 AGAIN. Yesterday at the AP annual meeting, McCain said he would defer any decision to General Petraeus over whether troops should be shifted from Iraq to Afghanistan in order to intensify the search for Osama bin Laden. Only problem is that...

John McCain's Tour de Farce

4 Comments | Posted March 21, 2008 | 12:23 PM (EST)

John McCain concludes his trip to the Middle East and Europe on Sunday. It was heralded as a great move--a huge opportunity for him, given that his opponents are still locked in a primary fight. By traveling the world, John McCain could do what he does best: demonstrate his foreign...

McCainiacs are Running Scared on Iraq

Posted March 19, 2008 | 05:19 PM (EST)

First: the McCain triple "gaffe" on Iraq and al Qaeda
Second: the apology
Third: Conservative bloggers and pundits claim he was right the first time.

What the x$&? Lack of coordination? Neo-con push back on McCain? Possibly, but it stinks of something far more sinister....
