Better late than never (had hoped to publish this on Christmas Eve) here's Lemony Snicket with his Christmas story, The Latke Who Couldn't Stop Screaming. As can be anticipated giving the author and title, this is a wry little story, charmingly illustrated by Lisa Brown, that --- spoiler --- does not end happily for the title character.
