Let's Hear From an Egyptian Viewpoint

If Only the Sphinx Could Talk!

Perhaps it would summon a skilled and informed foreign editor to have MSNBC give viewers a more accurate and complete picture of the horror in Cairo rather than forcing us to hear a lot of blah blah from a circle of well-meaning foreigners (Americans) as opposed to hearing from some educated or well-informed EGYPTIANS about what is going on in their country.

For the better part of 18 hours, all we have heard are glib Americans "interpreting" the events of the unfolding crisis. The only sensible voice is that of President Barack Obama who, in effect, is giving Americans and other listeners a tutorial on what U.S. policy is or is not with respect to Egypt. He's right on target. The United States has best stand on the sidelines and let the reality inside Egypt work out its own destiny, i.e how to deal with the fascistic Muslim Brotherhood that has never stood for normalcy or rational politics.

Why can't MSNBC find credible Egyptian scholars, journalists or graduate students to offer up a sorely needed perspective and stop the one-sided view of what is in store for the country? Keep in mind, we don't even know if, in fact, a free press is functioning in Cairo and/or Alexandria. Certainly there must be some voices from among that group who can give us the straight story.
