What a Stick-On Bra Taught Me About Repeat Business

Posted: Updated:

As I'm traveling on business, I sometimes go to fancy-shmancy events and get all dressed up. I buy these stick-on bras that work with open back dresses and plunging necklines. Why am I telling you this? Stick with me!

In the package of stick-on bras there's five. When you use a pair, you have to throw it out because the adhesive is gone. So after I've used two pairs, I'm left with one lonely stick-on, which serves no purpose whatsoever.

So what do I do when this happens? Of course, I go out and buy ANOTHER package from the same company because I don't want the fifth one to go to waste and I want to get the same one since there are other brands that work and look differently and I'd like to have a nice uniform look going on here.

The bra company definitely ensured repeat business and it got me thinking, how can I do this in my own business but without doing anything cheeky, like leaving someone hanging with an unusable product?

So today I want to talk to you about how you ensure repeat business -- getting people to buy from you, again and again.

In the video below, I'll share with you strategies you can use to ensure your customers keep coming back for more:

To recap, here are three stellar ways to connect with your customers after that first sale:

  1. Create an automated mail-out to follow up with your customers after their purchase. Use a system like Aweber or Infusionsoft to make it super easy to gain customers' feedback and let them know about other products and services that you offer.
  2. Offer a coupon or discount that your customers can use if they place another order with you in the next 30 days. The company I buy my business cards from always does this, and it works brilliantly.
  3. Include a sample of another product your customers might like, which gives them a chance to try something new and hopefully buy it next time!

My actionable for you this week is to change up one thing you do at the point of sale, or post-sale to increase the chances of your customer coming back for more! I'd love to hear in a comment below YOUR creative ideas for getting repeat business, too!

And while we're talking comments, I'm checking in to see what you thought of the meditation from last week's episode. Haven't tried it yet? Clear some time on your calendar today, check out this free meditation, and get ready to magnetize your success!
