The original Communications Act was enacted in 1934 and subsequently revised in 1996 in which the word "Internet" only appeared 11 times while "payphone" garnered 18 references. Our policies are still being led by those outdated laws.
We all remember the 1980s and its awesome fashion and music. While some may want to revisit those aspects of the past, I don't think anyone wants to return to the era of the cable and Ma Bell monopolies.
To the uninitiated, bringing Fairness to the public airwaves -- radio and TV -- is a no-brainer. But to Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, and Rush Limbaugh, bringing back the "Fairness Doctrine" could be a call to arms.
