So as well as focusing on the Obama vs. Romney race, it becomes increasingly important to focus on the Obama vs. Obama race -- Campaigning Obama vs. Governing Obama. And if the president really believes, as he told Univision, that he can't change Washington from the inside, and intends to outsource his leadership role to us, we are all (pardon the expression, Kate) royally screwed.
While watching and listening to Governor Romney's remarks, I thought to myself, "Wow, this would make a great horror film."
When Mitt is releasing tax returns to change the subject, you just know he's in a bad place politically. It may still be way too early to confidently predict the outcome of the election, but it isn't too early to call Romney's campaign (so far) an unmitigated disaster.
People like Romney and Metcalfe aren't concerned about us. Their attitude seems to be that we are young and can easily bounce back and that we can depend on our parent's if need be. That attitude is not only flippant, but it is untrue.
Romney has made no secret of his contempt for the men and women who sacrifice for all Americans. It is the same contempt he feels for every American who relies on government to help when there is a need for a helping hand.
