Next, I think their declaration is a nice reminder that at any point couples and individuals can choose to do something different with their sex lives than what they've done in the past. For instance, it goes against the commonly held perception and says that just because a woman has engaged in sexual activity previously does not mean she should be obligated to do so with a new partner.
California Judge Donald Black recently ruled that Clovis Unified School District's curriculum, which was abstinence-only-focused, was not really sex education, not meeting the state's own guidelines. Further, he found that it was providing medically inaccurate information. Unsurprisingly, the curriculum was also touting anti-gay "traditional family" propaganda.
I was considered the radical Catholic for being sexually abstinent, being pro-life, and attending church weekly. This was especially true in college. So I figured that I was just about the only person, and pretty much the only Catholic, who was abstaining from sexual relations from marriage, and I resigned myself to being a lifelong virgin.
