Welcome to the age of increasing complexity, volatility, interdependence, diversity, ambiguity, flux and more. Bring it on. Our team ended the year with a resolution to start 2015 with a plan to somehow make it feel less crazy.
Most of us have been students, quite often for 12 or more years of our lives. And because of this, it's easy to think that we've accumulated enough experience with teachers to know at least what teaching is, perhaps even how it ought to be.
True college and career readiness requires that we create knowledge and solutions that do not presently exist. Schools need to become places capable of generating knowledge -- not merely disseminating it.
