For any of us who are experiencing the "paraphernalia with which to communicate" in the 21st century, the question "Is anybody really listening?" could expand to include, "Is anybody really understanding what they are listening to?"
Our culture has a way of fostering the belief that the "grass is always greener on the other side." I find it fascinating that the more we dream about what we want, the more we forget how to really dream.
The spiritual experience usually comes about in altered states, but what does the recurring substance of the experience signify? What is that "something deeper and larger than ourselves" to which the experience seems to connect us?
