On November 8, the American voters will have the opportunity to raise their voices and say "Mr. Trump. Tear down that wall." They can also say, "You do not speak for me. We are stronger and better together than we are divided."
Now with this fresh, open wound in the "city that never sleeps" we have an opportunity to never fall asleep again and become conscious to our own source of power that gives us life to speak and act in truth that sets every person free.
Do you wonder, as I do, when will Blacks recognize the value of their vote and push Dems to act truly in the best interests of all Americans? When will Blacks leave the Party and empower themselves by recognizing that Democrats are not their best or only option?
The big news in Washington "journalism" circles this week was not the side issue of "did Obama personally come up with the sequester idea?" but the side-side issue of "did Obama personally take Bob Woodward out to the woodshed and beat him mercilessly with a tire iron?" Or something like that...
Accompanying the release of his budget, Paul Ryan insulted the American people, referring to us as a nation based on "dependency," and that he and his Republican colleagues, are here to save the soul of the nation.
Such has been the patient sufferance of the people of these United States of America; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former systems of political decision making and, when necessary, the actual structure and organization of its government.
We, the people, consistent with our nation's founding principles and in keeping with our sacred duties, in national association declare our independence from the politics of the two major political parties.
There's a real sense out there, even amongst people not prone to hyperbole, that perhaps our nation's best days are behind us. I guess it matters how you define "best days," but I, for one, am not buying it.
In the midst of the debt ceiling frenzy, nobody seems to have noticed that Obama is negotiating in a markedly different way than what we've seen from him in the past. He is at the absolute center of the showdown.
