I haven't truly enjoyed an episode of "The Carrie Diaries" since the pilot until Monday night's "Endgame." The Thanksgiving-focused episode kept young Carrie attempting to fill her mom's suburban shoes by being a perfect housewife.
Carrie Bradshaw seemed to receive the "Gossip Girl" treatment on tonight's episode. It seemed as though the CW was wondering what the series would be like if Carrie Bradshaw and Blair Waldorf's worlds collided. The answer? Let's keep them separate, please.
The over-analytical teenager struggles to look beyond the labels she quickly fashions for herself, her family and her friends. She realizes that sometimes, labels are not created in haste, but descriptions that are earned.
I feel even more certain after Episode 2 that I do not need to see this Carrie Bradshaw grow up into the one I already know and love. In fact, I like watching AnnaSophia Robb navigate the hallways of Castlebury High so much that I almost hope she grows up into someone else.
