"I thought you worked on abortions so how can you also believe Black Lives Matter?" That was the question I was asked when, on the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, I posted remarks, via social media, on the importance of honoring this anniversary.
Lately, I've become overly aware of little black girls between the ages of six to eleven years old. Mostly they seem shocked that someone has even acknowledged them, much less dared to call them beautiful!
That so many have -- and in the process downloaded and trafficked in illegal child pornography -- speaks volumes about how society thinks about Black girls. For that reason alone, Amber Cole is my daughter.
